The woman, who was 13- or 14-year-old runaway at the time, picked John T. Jamelske out of a series of photos, Onondaga County Sheriff Kevin Walsh said.

She also provided details of her ordeal and an accurate description of the secret two-room bunker, which Jamelske, now 67, built in the late 1980s and later connected to his basement in DeWitt, Walsh said.

''There is another side to the story and that will come out at the appropriate time,'' said his attorney, J. Michale Forsyth.

I'd like to hear it.

Place John T. Jamelske in his "secret two-room bunker". Hire a couple of cement trucks. Pour....

"I was abused by my parents...my father beat me while my mother watched. I can't be held responsible. I didn't know what I was doing. Besides, I'm insane. See this button hole? Rats used to come out of this button hole! And big green canaries!"

I think the claim will turn out to be more like "she volunteered for it."

The crime scene is on my way to work.

There was an extremely brutal murder of a young woman in our area about 12 years ago, never solved. Maybe it's about to be.

That's "Baghdad Bob," and even Rush can't change it now.

There was anther case much like this one in the late 1980's in San Louis Obispo, CA. A man would kidnap and hold women in his underground setup (complete with one-way mirror, and torture chamber). He would video-tape the rape(s) and then the deaths. He hung around with a 16 year old petty theft junivile who was busted to shoplifting and that's how they caught him. I don't know the rest of the story since I moved out of California.

I know that his ex-wife collected and was hoarding all the VHS tapes and was not letting the police see them.

If anyone has more info on this, I'd sure like to know what came of the investigation.

There was also a man who kidnapped a 16 year old girl in the 70's and kept her in a box under his mobile home. She was there for decades. I don't know what ever happened to him either.

That story was on TV sometime during the last year. His wife became a Christian, started attending church, and helped the girl to get away. Very sad.

Jamelske was just born in the wrong country. Uday Hussein had no trouble getting away with this sort of thing - and the French still liked him.
