Be more like us? Oh, yes, I can see how that would look so appealing to the new joins.

Chirac, sit down and shut up....or they might apply for statehood...and then you really would be squawking or croaking.

Chirac should take note of how the Romanians dispatched their own communist tyrants.

So, now the East Europeans have to stop economic growth, import millions of Arab immigrants and eat smelly cheese?

Did he issue his "warning" before or after his phone call to Bush?

The eastern european countries that sided with the US are completely vindicated by the outcome. Watching the Iraqi people celebrate their freedom must have made their hearts swell with pride that they were a part of freeing another people.
These are tough folks and I have no worry about them being dominated by the insufferable french. Besides, the American people won't forget who stood with us.
To: steve-b
What? No warning for the UK, Spain, or Portugal? His condescending warning to the New Europe will only irritate freedom loving people who understand now what freedom means. France has forgotten what freedom means, can't control rampant Islamaniacs in their own country, and are suffering from the spontaneous boycott of French products by freedom loving Americans. Chirac's arrogance is only exceeded by his criminal stupidity.

Yeah, that's probably what they don't want. After years of domination by socialist Russia, I wonder how being dominated by the socialist EU (with France at the helm) looks to them. Not so great, I bet.
