U.S. Lowers Terror Threat Level
|
April 16 WASHINGTON (Reuters) - The U.S. government on Wednesday lowered the country's terror alert level a notch from a high level of alert, based partly on success in the Iraq war, a government official said on Wednesday. For most of the past month since the war began, the country had been on the second-highest level of alert, "orange." The level was reduced to "yellow" on Wednesday, which is still an elevated status. The government official said the formal announcement would be made soon by the Department of Homeland Security. |

I HOPE this means that idiot Rendell will stop sending state trooper up here from the cities to 'protect' PA's compressor stations from 'terrorists'....they don't even know what one IS. The other day, Hubby took a walk and there was a state trooper he didn't recognize sitting beside the road....he gave Hubby the third degree : name, address, etc...they're doing that to all of us.
They finally got tot he point where Hubby could politely ask the officer why he was sitting in the middle of nowhere....and the officer said he was there to guard the compressor station. They had to guard it against terrorists 24 hours a day.
Hubby then had to explain to him that the wellhead out in the bushes he was staring at was NOT the compressor station, but a head for a gas well, and then gave him directions to the real compressor station....which SHOULD be assumed to be too large to miss.
