I hate to rain on everyones' parade, but is it possible that some of these people were REAL criminals? You know, thieves, rapists, murderers, etc. Unlikely. Sadaam recruited his real criminals into his Fedayeen units.

To: SauronOfMordor
You have a point. The more unscrupulous, the more ruthless and sadistic a person was, the more Saddam liked them.

Sounds like punishment for political prisoners.

Severely emaciated, some had survived by eating the scabs off their sores. All the men had beards down to their waists, said onlookers. Apparently Nancy Pelosi had a secret plan to end all this, and at far lesser expense...

"Just want you to know that none of them were rescued in our name...."
Great ad. . .billboard. . .full page in NYT's and Washington Post would be great. I would happily contribute to a full page on behalf of these caring Libs.
BTW. . .wondering why this story has not received more coverage. . .mistaken perhaps, but have not seen FoxNews go 'here' yet on this 'prisoners uncovered' . . .

Perhaps I should have said "common criminals not connected to Saddam's reign of terror".

You don't consider the Singapore Straits Times to be legit?
To: petuniasevan
The Boston Globe thinks all this is a myth.

I hate to rain on everyones' parade, but is it possible that some of these people were REAL criminals? You know, thieves, rapists, murderers, etc.Unless the Iraqis made all their prisons deep underground like that, which is costly and therefore unlikely, I doubt they would have put them in this kind of facility.

No, Saddam let all the killers, rapists, and thieves out of prison and gave them weapons to fight the US prior to the war.
I'm sure these buried and hidden cells were for the political sort.
To: petuniasevan
Why isn't this story ALL OVER THE FRONT PAGE, and WHY aren't these people in a US MILITARY HOSPITAL???

'sup dog. I see you were up late last night. These and the many more chambers of horrors to be found is continual vindication for Bush. It is interesting to watch the fatuous hubris by the left as they respond to the long awaited liberty of the Iraqi people, when they cannot help but know these atrocities would still be going on, if the U.S. listened to them.

The bigger question is; this story is so horrifying, why is it being ignored by the newswires?
To: battlegearboat
I'm looking for other sources as well. Is there anything valid on this subject ?
123 people free'd from hellhole.
