only a handful of complainersmostly right-leaning cultural scoldsbother to complain about it any more.Quite a few of these holier-than-thou tight-asses that give conservatives a bad name hang around FR - they often troll and flame-bait libertarians on the WOD threads. You know who you are ...

I always enjoyed South Park, although parts of it can be revolting gross at times.
However, since I discovered in another posting that that leftist social revolutionary Norman Lear took it over, I'll never watch it again.

Who cares if South Park is Republican leaning or libertarian leaning so long as it pokes fun at sacred cows. Moo!

That episode wasn't as sacrilegious as it was ironic.

And from their 100th episode in a timely fashion:
"You people who are for the war, you need the protesters. Because they make the country look like its made of sane caring individuals. And you people who are anti-war, you need these flag wavers. Because if our whole country was made up of nothing but soft p#$%@ protesters, we'd get taken down in a second. That's why the Founding Fathers decided we should have both. It's called having your cake, and eating it, too." [expletive changed]

For instance, I have seen people wearing Mr. Hanky t-shirts. They obviously didn't get the joke. Either that, or they are perpetrating the joke. I think that's mostly the case.

Did you see the new "Cartman Anal Probe" episode where Earth is a reality TV show for the rest of the universe? Outstanding!
I can not think of a single episode I don't love. The christmas show that was a musical was incredible. Satan singing "Christmas Time In Hell" had me on the floor.
The Jesus vs. Satan on pay-per-view was a classic.

I myself am a devoted South Park Fan. I have Kenny on my back window of my truck. Just love that foul-mouthed little
b@st@rd!!! A lot of the shows I see have good morals to the stories.

The Mr. Hanky joke is that almost anything can, via media manipulation and sympathetic portrayal can be made "cute" and loveable. Think PETA telling us that even insects are sympathetic creatures that we should feel a loving caring bond with. Mr. Hanky is of course revolting to everyone except for that small percentage of the population who can be manipulated into feeling sympathy towards anything. For instance, I have seen people wearing Mr. Hanky t-shirts. They obviously didn't get the joke.
The way I saw it Mr. Hankey
was a blazing satire on Christmas hype, which was made very clear in the "Merry Christmas, Charlie Manson" episode. But sometimes Trey and Matt simply push the limits of "I don't believe they did that!". Such pushing gives the show its edge.
In any case, any show that repeatedly mocks out Barbara Streisand and portays Sadam Hussein and Satan as gay lovers in Hell automatically has a certain degree of cool. >:)
