"In the end, baseball looks doofish, which is nothing new for baseball," writes Sports Illustrated columnist John Donovan. A writer who thinks "doofish" is a word is a little too stupid to be telling the rest of us how baseball looks.

I assume Costas' reply will be: "Because I'm a sports show, that's why."

Just what exactly could they tell us about life in the minor leagues? About how it feels to take an 8 hour bus ride. About being stuck in the middle of nowhere when a bus breaks down? How about no hot water in the visitors locker room and everybody stinking to the next town because they already checked out of the motel.
Or maybe they can tell us about being called up and not knowing whether to call your new teamamtes sir, ask for their autograph or feel stupid and self conscious when you sit down next to them on the bench.
But, if we wanted to know the lens settings for different scenes and how difficult it was to remember certain lines and how long it took to block certain scenes or how terrible a job the caterers did on a certain day or how they stand-in did a lousy job and make them look bad and had to do it over until they got it right, they have some expertise.
But life in the minors? Someone needs to get a grip and not a key grip.

I just went to the HOF website link where they give a number of email addresses for differant functions and picked the one that looked like it might reach Patroskey.
