This may be a vanity, but I think FR can make an exception. The easiest way to lose the peace in Iraq would be to turn the country over to the UN and the Axis Of Weasels. Alas that is exactly what the anti-America wackos, our friends in the so-called peace movement want to do next. They want to get rid of Jay Garner and the U.S military. Don't let them snatch defeat from the jaws of victory for us. Please give this website a good Freeping. Thanks.

I'm not really surprised some people hate our military and our country that much. They would have stopped our military from overseeing transitions to democracy in post-war Germany and Japan after World War II. These people are evil.

Maybe it's just me, but this guy's reasons for not wanting Garner in Iraq have nothing to do with the actual situation in that country.

These people are evil. Indeed.
To interfere with the transformation of Iraq into a free and open government; and by someone claiming to represent 'human rights'; is craven and despicable.
This site makes my skin crawl, and my blood boil!

They want Iraq to be handed over to the tender mercies of guess who? - the United Nations! Medea Benjamin in particular is a deeply disturbed anti-America wacko and one of the organizers of the Code Pink, a feminazi peacenik group. Doncha just love how concerned they are about democracy in Iraq all of a sudden? The U.S had a good track record and what really upsets them is the U.S is running the show. That's bad news for all the anti-America fringe out there.

The best way to freep an irrelevant web page like that one is to ignore it, IMHO.

I agree with you they're totally irrelevant since President Bush is ignoring them. These people are so pathetic that they can't grasp the fact its the world that's leaving them behind now.

The "About Us" section lists Michael Shellenberger as the founder.
Did some web searching on him - appears to be a Green.
This site lists some contact info that's probably him:

Yup. Along with Medea Benjamin. The usual suspects are logically following their philosophy to a T: the War on Iraq was illegitimate, immoral, and unjust. And they see no reason why they should change their tune just cause we won. So its no surprise they want to sabotage our hard earned gains and restore Iraq to another Axis Of Weasels anti-American authoritarian regime, if they can't bring Saddam back to rule the country. Don't be fooled by their deceptive talk of wanting a democratic future for Iraq. They opposed democracy all along and oppose it now cause they will never admit to being wrong about the war and the last thing on earth these folks want to do is to see anything positive happen over there that rubs credit off on President Bush. That's what this is all about. Jay Garner is simply a convenient foil for the man who's made their lives a living hell on earth.

I agree that they're disturbed, but the page still lacks a clear, relevant reason not to tap Garner to head up Iraq.
Look for yourself. Not a coherent reason. The basic message is, "He built weapons, he can't run the country!"
I wonder if this guy's ever heard of Douglas MacArthur...

Hmmm... I noticed what they wrote about the Patriot missle defense system. It had a virtually flawless performance in this war. Mentioning that might make Garner look too good, so they stick with decade old data about a anti-missle defense system. Hey, if the Patriot we saw this past month is any indication of what a future National Missle Defense system is going to look like, I can't wait! When President Bush pulled out of the 1972 ABM accord, his critics accused him of endangering the country. Obviously, the President has been impressed with the latest research and has made a good pick in Garner. Without him I doubt our missle interception technology would be as good today as it obviously is. Which is another reason the Left hates Garner; they can't stand competent people completing their mission.

Dear Michael,
I am writing to disagree with your premise. Not only the Green's efforts to stop the liberation of the Iraqi people fail laughably, your current course correction will finish the same.
Do you HONESTLY think that President Bush would take a single word you say seriously. Could your Leftist camp POSSIBLY be more irrelevant?
While the Iraqis are safe enough to rebuild out of the sand a prosperous new nation, why do you go there and help? Better yet, lay on the ground and pound some sand.

Agreed. But I'm still puzzled as to how this webmaster arrives that the conclusion that because Garner builds weapons, he's inappropriate in this new role as temporary authority. I just don't get it.

Their is a couple of reasons I can think of for not wanting garner is charge, however, this website doesn't list them, in fact, they give no reason what so ever, not to appoint him. It just seems a "he's a military guy, so he bad" reason. Hell, they mention a case where somone lied, was sued, and settled out of court, and then tell us that the liar is somone to listen to.

Exactly. There aren't any relevant facts or deductive reasoning given on this site... it's just three irrelevant points and an ugly layout.
