From related story in Arizona Republic: Steve Camarota, director of research at the Center for Immigration Studies, in Washington, predicted any legislation giving undocumented immigrants permanent residency has little chance of passing.
"There is deep concern it is rewarding illegal immigration and a slap in the face of legal immigrants," Camarota said.

They have lived in the United States at least five years.
They have no criminal record.
Sorry but from the perverted way I look at this picture the person has broken a Federal Law! This program wouldn't have any eligible applicatants.
If the INS had gotten off their dead butts and located this family they would not have allowed any child the parents snuck across the border to remain here. Or would they?

he favors returning them to their country of origin, where they could then apply to enter the United States legally. This sounds quite fair ---breaking the law shouldn't get you moved up to the front of the line ----why do they believe they should have "cuts" in front of those who respect and follow the law?

Looks like you can't use more than "one-word" keywords, or it runs the letters all together. Just noticed that.

It helps keep the list of Keywords from multipling with spaces, dashes or underlines like happened with the bump lists.

It's also a slap in the face of every working parent who doesn't qualify for *any* financial aid for his kids because he owns his house, saved some money, and is married to the mother of his children. He pays taxes so illegals can go to state universities. And the Republicans push it.

SACRAMENTO - About 400 people marched to the state Capitol on Saturday in support of proposed federal legislation to allow undocumented immigrants to apply for houses belonging to Republicans upon high school graduation.
The rally was the first of 50 planned in communities in more than 30 states over the next week in support of the Student Adjustment Act and the Dream Act. The legislation would provide legal residency to students who are graduating, but have no "Home of their own", paving the way for them to continue their education and have an address to recieve their welfare checks.
When asked what the republicans losing their homes would do, Barbara Boxer (R. Ca.) said "Theirs plenty of room in Mexico".

I'm sure it's very nice for the undocumented students, but it seems to me there is a concerted effort to replace American workers with foriegn-born workers. Is this some sort of government demographics project to radically change the make-up of our nation?

I think there are four actors involved:
1. Non-Hispanic U.S. politicians who want illegal alien's votes and/or cheap labor.
2. Large corporations who want cheap labor.
3. Hispanic leaders who want a constituency and power.
4. The foreign governments who get rid of their excess population and get cash back.

Number 4 brings Vincente Fox to mind. I do not like that man.
