TEXT OF ARTICLE: It was, by any measure, an astonishing coincidence. As the biggest statue of Saddam Hussein in Baghdad was pulled down "spontaneously" in front of the world's media, the Stars and Stripes which flew on the Pentagon on 11 September was at hand to be draped over its face.
The US army denied that the toppling of the 20ft edifice by a tank tower was stage-managed. It was a coincidence, they said, that Lt Tim McLaughlin, the keeper of that flag, happened to be present.
And, it has to be noted, the commander of the US marines who completed the capture of Baghdad did express concern at the time that the use of the Stars and Stripes smacked of triumphalism. It was later changed to an Iraqi flag. But not before acres of TV footage had been shot.
Yesterday, the US army banned any display of the flag on vehicles, buildings, statues and command posts, halting its display almost everywhere but the US embassy in Baghdad.
There was some suspicion that the crowd that jumped up and down on the metal carcass had been bused in from the Shia suburb of Saddam City. That was not the case, they were mostly local. But they were the same people who chanted "My blood, my spirit, I shall die for you O Saddam" – until the last day of the regime.
Flushed with victory, the marines one spoke to had no doubts about the war's justice. But when asked whether they had seen any proof of a link between al-Qa'ida and the defeated Iraqi regime, there was general puzzlement.
When one of the few remaining "human shields" in Baghdad, Uzma Bashir, from Rickmansworth, baited the troops with shouts of "Yankee murderers", Cpl Ibrahim Rahim exploded: "I scooped up the brains of two young marines ... They died fighting to liberate Iraq. And you stand here insulting them with this shit." He added: "I am a Muslim ... and I know this region. That woman is seriously abusing her right of speech."
Captain Brian Lewis, a tank commander, said: "All we are trying to do is create the conditions for representative government."
This individual last week aggressively challenged United States Marines at "Liberation Square" and the Palestine Hotel, Baghdad during the execution of their Coalition military duties in a war zone.
The individual is also filmed with "Baghdad Bob" in one instance, and the other report is that, in providing aid and material comfort to the enemy, she cooperated with Ba'athist Iraqi intelligence in being placed by the enemy at a strategic location during Operation Iraqi Freedom for defensive protection purposes.
Believe me, "Baghdad Bashir" looked just as much a rabid idiot in the Lebanon TV and al Jazeera footage I saw of her insulting our US troops who had just made it through Iraq to get to Baghdad to pull down the statue and liberate the people.

In the meantime, perhaps seeing that "Baghdad Bashir's" role as a UK 'human shield' in Iraq was coming to an end, (and her position there under US forces might be questioned), apparantly Baghdad Bashir had a metamorphasis, magically turning into a 'journalist' ( stringer for "Socialist Worker" leftist rag from the UK). Perhaps she thinks this gives her legitimacy and protection from Coalition forces.
One asks, OK, who accredited her? Certainly it was not the Coaltion. She was in fact 'accredited' by Baghdad Bob's office.

Baghdad Bashir needs to be arrested at once and interrogated due to her past (and perhaps current) connection to enemy combatants such as Iraqi intelligence services and perhaps foreign 'jihadi' that came in from Syria.

HUMANSHIELD IN BAGHDAD
This is to notify you that I am in Baghdad Iraq. I am currently stationed at the important site of Durah Electrical Power Plant as a Human Shield. I hope the British presence including myself will deter US/UK bombing of this extremely important humanitarian site, which if bombed will not only stop power to hospitals, schools, homes but also will bring down site such as water purification facilities which provided clean water to millions of Iraqi civilians.
Since my arrival in Iraq I have been overwhelmed with the generosity, love and compassion shown to me, these are clearly intelligent, beautiful people, which have a right to live. This war will NOT BE IN MY NAME. How could you kill any family? Any neighborhood? How can you cook children?
Should I live I will return to the U.K with my fellow comrades and inform the world of the truly illegal unjust war, the blood, deaths and destruction of innocent men, women and children. Please try to be brave and stand up to George Bush, to avoid blood on your hands.
Please could you inform the United States government that I am a British Citizen deployed on my own free will, voluntarily at the above site? I urge you to cancel any plans for the destruction of these sites, which will without doubt kill Iraqi lives.

I believe you are a well informed of the consequences of War and hope you can be strong enough to stop this military attack on Iraq. You will win the respect of the world, for your brave stance again United States aggression.

She's a wackjob, looking to be important by doing nothing more than making an ass of herself, and she'll never realize it.
To think great Americans like Lori Piestwa, the Hopi Indian girl in the US Army, gave their lives so scumbags like Uzma Bashir could play activist around the world. These freaks will have lost their smiles when it hits them as they are taking a ride in the back of an American APC, "you mean, we we we... could...could... go to JAIL for this stuff?"
