From the Dixie Chicks and Martin Sheen to Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins, stars who speak out against President Bush and the war in Iraq are seeing repercussions.

"There's a piling on, and we're isolating people. That's just wrong," says Kevin Costner, standing up for "courageous" Bull Durham co-stars Sarandon and Robbins.

The line that I heard constantly in my chidhood "he can dish it out but he can't take it" applies to these vain pompous people. They can "pile" it on to President Bush but they want to avoid the consequences of their own communistic and unpopular views. They will never get another penny of my money, all they will get from me is derision.

Their first amendment right includes their right to march through the streets and say very foolish things. Included in my first amendment right is the right to call TV shows and sponsors to tell them they will not get my support. What part of my free speech do they not understand?

They are free to say what they want. The rest of us are free to dislike them for it and act accordingly.

I whole-heartedly agree!!!!!

Attention Julia Roberts: When you say that you find me in the dictionary between reptile and repugnant, what makes you think you are getting another penny from me for your work? What makes you think I will support any of your projects or sponsors?

Attention Harrison Ford: When you call for a regime change in the United States, make makes you think I will give you another penny? I also have the right to allow my dogs to pee on and then burn my personal copies of AIR FORCE ONE and RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK.

What an abject hypocrite. Perhaps not, but a hollywoodie with a twisted and evil extreme liberal mind, definitely YES! To Susan, freedom of speech is only for her and the leftist liberals, ordinary Americans don't have that right, including Dr. Laura.

one of the celebrity participants [Susan Sarandon] of the Stop Dr. Laura movement. What an abject hypocrite.--dirtboy

As if they didn't gleefully pile onto Trent Lott.--E. Pluribus Unum

I'm not for the boycotts (in most cases), but these reminders of the liberals' actions prove that turnabout is fair play.

When is someone going to slap Susan and Tim to remind them of what the guy at the Baseball Hall of Fame was doing? How in any rational thought does a stupid movie, Bull Durham, qualify to be represented at a baseball hall of fame? The museum is about BASEBALL. A parody of folks playing baseball should only be shown at the sports bar. I can understand why that manager thought twice about Bull Durham with Tim and Susan. He wants his audience to think about baseball, not an anti-war movement. It isn't a fair decision. It is biased. But, oh well. Freedom isn't free.

I appreciate all those in Hollyweird and their commitment to their convictions. They are expressing their rights. I will be expressing my rights by not watching ANY of them on TV or at the movies. Equality prevails.

Still scheduled to air Sunday on CBS is Sarandon's movie Ice Bound: A Woman's Survival at the South Pole.

Hey, I'd heard John Carpenter was doing a sequel to his movie The Thing, but I had no idea he was putting it on CBS. So the Thing survived, eh? I wonder what part Susan plays?

As it stands, then can now (and have) accused others (rightly) of politicizing the event (and baseball).

What are you talking about? It is Robbins and Sarandon who have politicized themselves, not by speaking their minds, but by interjecting their opinions at inappropriate times, places, and events. Their very presence ensures politicalization, just as Bill Clinton's does. Baseball (rightly) wants no part of that.

not allowed to participate

Susan, Economics Lesson # 1: Ideas, like products, either have a market or they don't. Are cabbage-patch dolls "not allowed to participate" in the market? How 'bout Tickle-Me Elmo toys--are they "allowed to participate" in the market?

Of course they are. It's just for some reason they're not as popular as they were once-upon-a time. And folks ain't linin' up @ they're door.

Susan, you just want to spout off your mouth to the people via the media...but don't want the people responding back to you via the media? What, you mean you don't want us as media viewers to participate? Is that what you mean? Participation is a one-way street?

The left wingers in Follywood are in a meltdown and a free fall!

It is time for the Follywood maggots and the CNN maggots to move to Paris, France. They will be appreciated in Paris, France if they bring money with them.

Smells like Bull Dungham to me.

Hey, instead of piling on, (I would prefer 'pounding in', as in the ground), how about all these communist, anti-American Hollyweirds just buy that one-way ticket to frogville and never come back?

We offered to buy the one-way tix, but that offer is off the table now.

So, fly or get pounded you worthless trash.

"Says Sarandon, "It's so ironic that we should be quote unquote liberating another country and giving them a democracy when we're telling people here if they open their mouths, they're not allowed to participate."

Oh, Susie, you can participate all you want. Doesn't mean anyone is going to watch you.

BOO HOO.... it aint fair!

Learn from this stupid actors and actresses. you are nothing more than actors, you should not earn these ntty salaries to spew your hate for America.

I say this is a lesson learned. They get mad and say it is not fair, well it is fair. You libs have Peter Jennines, ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN.. and it isn't enough you want more more more more more. Well guess what America has spoken and we are sick of you guys.

As far back as I can remember hollywood has always had a very large socialist leaning group. I find it difficult to watch them hiding in the ranks of the democratic party. If they are really proud of their position, they sould identify themselves as they truly are, and carry their true
colors....Socialist? or Marxist?7
