Eagleburger warned the Bush administration of being cocky. I guess I'd like to know how Larry thinks the Bushies are acting cocky.

Eagleburger has a bone to pick with George W. Bush for some reason. When we were fighting he kept quiet but now we have achieved victory he is starting to erupt again. I do not like that man. We went to the stupid UN and wasted a lot of time because of the likes of him. Our troops are sweating and miserable because of him and some of the other state department jerks who opened their mouths and gave cover to the democrats. Anyway, that is my opinion.

I too took that as his meaning. He did not say he was necessarily against an action against Syria, just that with us being a democracy, it must be presented separately to the congress. One action that could easily be taken without that consultation would be hitting the islamofacsists in the Bekka Valley facing Israel. Also put super pressure on Syria regarding Lebanon.

Eric Shaw is a nitwit..Anti war..stop the shipments to troops and punish the company who makes profits shipping because the company formed the policy that made us go to war.But he didn't EVER mean to heart our troops!Got it?

I guess I'd like to know how Larry thinks the Bushies are acting cocky.

Larrty studies world opinion, Hannity doesn't. Larry knows that many people around the world think that the US/Bush are cocky even though we know better. Larry is giving good advice.

Well, cow sh1t sick belly, ask Eagleburger to explain why the invasion of Panama -- his baby -- was Constitutional and why that unauthorized invasion was NOT impeachable.

Gee golly mooo-lly he's the one to speak ....

Better check the "Chinese" fire pumps there boyos!

A native of Milwaukee, Eagleburger studied history at UW-Madison and, after a brief stint in the army, returned to the university to take a master's degree in political science. Upon graduation, he entered the foreign service, where he would spend the next 27 years. His overseas assignments included posts in Honduras and Yugoslavia, and through the 1960s, he became an expert on security issues.

In 1969, he became an assistant to Henry Kissinger, who was then President Nixon's national security advisor. During the Nixon and Ford presidencies, Eagleburger held a variety of appointments in the departments of defense and state, and in 1977, he was named ambassador to Yugoslavia. In 1981, he returned to the United States as assistant secretary of state for European affairs, and then served as undersecretary of state for political affairs.

Eagleburger retired in 1984, but he returned to government service in 1989, when the elder President Bush made him deputy secretary of state. While at the state department, he helped design policy for the diplomatic challenges arising from the end of the Cold War. His work was also instrumental in building the coalition that fought the Gulf War, and in implementing U.S. interventions in Panama and Somalia. In December 1992, he became the first foreign service officer ever appointed secretary of state, an office he held during the final month of Bush's presidency.

Eagleburger again retired in 1993. His career in America's foreign service earned him many honors, including the Presidential Citizens Medal, the department of state's Distinguished Service Medal, and an honorary knighthood from Britain's Queen Elizabeth.

How do you flex your muscle, rattle your sabre, as Eagleburger characterized it, without seeming cocky?

And I am willing to bet that THIS administration cares more, and WILL take steps to insure the preservation of any valuables, more than the complainers.

Oh yes. Without a doubt!

Agreed. Not that it was necessarily wrong, but there was sure a heck of a lot less justification than there would be for an attack on Syria.

Also, Eagleburger may still be thinking in Somalia mode. Why, exactly, is anybody listening to this man?
