There was an early report that they had stopped to do work on some of the vehicles that had problems. They had fallen behind the others and were ambushed on the road. They didn't take a wrong turn. But the wrong turn story was so prevalent by then that everyone kept repeating it.

You are right about that! And judging from their families responses they have had HUGE prayer support . . . I know we've been praying this whole time. God bless them!!

I heard one of the unit that was being visited in the hospital STRONGLY say that they DID NOT take a wrong turn ..

I read somewhere here last week that they did not turn off the road, but got seperated from the main body of the convoy for some reason. When they were by themselves is when they were attacked.

I hope they did not lose track of this guy so that they can give him a nice cash bonus and a good job in the new Baghdad Police Department.

LOL!! That's what I was thinking! Didn't they begin announcing rewards for info leading to the return of the POWs and the capture of Baath party officials and Fedayeen? THis guy will certainly qualify as would the group of Iraqi soldiers who stayed with the POWs when their commanding officers had fled.(chickens)

What joyful news and on Palm Sunday too boot!

I haven't heard much about Brits being P.O.W.'s or being captured. Are any in this category?

Our country saw some wonderful Christian witness from these POWs' families today!

I was so afraid that their captors might have fled, leaving the POWs locked in some hidden underground bunker, where they would starve to death before they could be found.

I woke up for some reason at about 5:30 EDT this morning and couldn't get back to sleep. The POWs were SO heavy on my mind, and I was thinking the same thing you were. I prayed myself back to sleep asking God to lead our soldiers to them as soon as possible.

If I had turned on the TV, I would have seen my prayers answered, but I didn't want to wake Sir SuziQ, so I didn't know about their being found until I got up at 10:30. I'm glad I didn't turn the TV on, though, I hadn't gotten to sleep until 3 am cause I was cruising FR then watching the war coverage! I needed the rest!

Wow, I got chills when I read that! That's just what I prayed last night before I went to sleep!

Today was the first morning since the war started that I didn't turn on my laptop and/or FNC when I first got up, so I didn't know about the rescue until it was brought up in prayer during our church service.

The seven were taken by Chinook helicopters to a field hospital.

Sea Knight helicopters, not Chinooks. Nice to see that British journalists are just as inept as the ones here in America.

Thanks be to God for this "lucky" find of our POW's! We KNOW this war is covered with prayer and our troops, our heroes, our President, all our leaders doing such a tremendous job. There is nothing more powerful we can do than to pray for any situation - and this war has certainly brought pray-ers into "battle". Thanks be to God that He hears and answers our prayers...... His mercy, grace, and living presence are so awesome - they are beyond words! I can't wait to see these now freed POW's reunited with their loved ones!
