Shells with suspected chemical agent found in Iraq
US marines have discovered 278 artillery shells carrying a substance that tested positive as a chemical agent, senior officers said.
Major Stephen Armes, operations officer of the Marines 1st Battalion, 5th Regiment, said the shells containing suspected blister agents were found on Saturday in trailers parked in a schoolyard in Baghdad.
Three were mounted on launchers, he said.
"They tested positive for chemical weapons," he said.
But Lieutenant Colonel Fred Padilla, the battalion commander, said more tests were required.
US forces who invaded Iraq on March 20 in a declared bid to strip Baghdad of suspected nuclear, chemical and biological weapons have yet to find what they consider a "smoking gun" that President Saddam Hussein possessed such arms.
Previous reports of chemical weapons finds have turned out to be false upon further analysis.

Notice that the left think there more of a story to Cheney and Halliburton, but think that all of these finds in Iraq don't prove a thing about Saddam.
To: Paul Atreides
I can't believe the cartoons from the left, the opeds and letters to the editors about the so called Halliburton Cheney link. The left is just like their butt buddies, the Soddomites. They are incapable of telling the truth! Hell, they will recycle the same lie for weeks.

" Previous reports of chemical weapons finds have turned out to be false upon further analysis."
I just love this false reporting (BS ALERT). Not all of them have been. Numerous samples and shells have been shipped to the USA for more detailed testing. But of course, ABC couldn't include that in their rush to clear Sadamn's and Blixies name. Bastards.

Actually, it does take a week to test them fully.
They're likely taking them (unopened) to the US for testing.

I have the feeling that, in order to make a bigger impact, the administration will call a news conference this week to announce several finds at the same time.
Maybe Powell will even announce it in a 'see - we told you so' at the unsecurity council.

Actually, it does take a week to test them fully.Yes but why would a country have shells in their military that have the capacity to carry anything but explosives? The intent, to me anyway, is obvious.

False...False....False
This is a bad game on the part of the media. No one in authority is telling them they have found a chemical weapons site. There are risks to these sites, both to the troops and the Iraqi people or haven't the media idiots thought of that yet.

Maybe we'll send one of the opened shells to Blixies office at the UN with a note "see I told you so".

The US isn't going to officially announce any WMD found until all the "i"s are dotted and the "t"s are crossed.
They're going to fanatically test them 3 or more times over and over again at different labs, etc.
They don't want to announce something with the SLIGHTEST risk they'd have to later retract it.
Hence you're going to see a lot of embeddeds with low-level troops reporting "finds" and then a 2-3 week delay until someone official says something officially to the press.

I'm so sick of the left wing media in our country, especially the Disney owned scum, that I've blocked ABC and all Disney related channels in addition to CNN and Time-Warner owned channels on my cable box. That stinks too because they have the NHL playoffs.

Oh,I agree, however it is obvious and in due time will come out. It does take time and to "jump the gun" like the media has would be foolish.

They're pesticide shells, for killing giant bugs, like those big grasshoppers in Beginning of the End.
