Martinsville Speedway

Virginia 500

The paperclip-shaped short track known as Martinsville opened in 1947, two years before NASCAR was founded. Under the direction of H. Clay Earles, who ran the speedway until his death in 1999, Martinsville grew from a dusty, rough-hewn operation into one of the most beautiful and modern racing facilities around.

Attention!
Our troops give so much of themselves, and we all benefit from their efforts.

The next time you look at your bank balance, why not find some way to take some money and put it towards supporting the members of our armed services in some way? Maybe find a family who has someone serving, and buy them dinner, or some groceries, or a gift for their children? Maybe find a way to contribute to a fund for the memory of any of those who have fallen? Our armed forces deserve our support in tangible ways.

Checkin' in. I've been invited to my buddies house for breakfast and the race. So, have fun in here. Don't tear the place up too bad.

Another JG - DEjr shootout would be nice! ;)

I'd have to vote for Jimmy Spencer as the most angry driver...or maybe LaJoie in the Busch series...those two have the worst luck out of everyone, I think...

The secret for Martinsville is SLOW on the gas out of the corners and easy into the corners...I just finished running 50 laps on NASCAR 2003...any leadfoots out there will be spinning tires or burning brakes...let's get ready to RUMMMMMBBBBLEEEE!!
