I remember the [surprized] media reporting after 9-11 how a large majority of women (well more than men) wanted a serious, immediate and forceful(military) retaliation against the perps. Women are not necessarily the anti-violence doves some would have us believe.

I'm too young to remember WW2, but I've seen the news reels about it and I don't recall the media dwelling on anything but victories over Germany (the "Krauts") and Japan (the "Japs").

Let me explain something which I'm sure my vet dad would back up. Most of the press today would have been arrested and imprisoned for the duration of the war for their efforts to remain "fair and balanced." Today's press thinks that means giving us the enemy's perspective of the war. The press during WW2 thought that meant either showing that they were losing and just how badly, or by explaining why they were winning (but just how temporary that really would be).

I'm not advocating censorship, but a hard rain is going to fall on us if we keep purchasing the media and the products being sold at the expense of our causes, our history, and our troops.

And less then 100 agree with Martha Burk and her cretins as was seen by her "protest" at the Masters yesterday...LOL

In a few years people will be ashamed to admit they ever seriously listened to the drivel of NOW and its ilk.....

How about another "separated at birth"?

Thanks to dighton for pointing out the uncanny resemblance.

Thank God for those who have been found. Prayers for those whose whereabouts are still unknown.

I still have this deep down feeling that we did pass out dis-information to the media. I also believe the embedded reporters were not privy to this dis-information.

One would be the " quagmire", that our troops would be held back for weeks. Clearly that embedded reporter believed that.

Yes, I agree. But I've always felt Mr. Rumsfeld was being honest with me. He's careful to qualify his promises, and he's very realistic about the downside of his strategies. I also feel that President Bush has been honest with me. I was expecting many more American troops to die in this war. And I still believe that many more casualties to suicide bombings are possible. It's just that I've accepted that as the price we need to pay for standing up to terrorism driven by pan-arab nationalism.

One thing I think none of us are discussing enough is the possibility of massive American casualties here at home in a terrorist attack on an urban center -- regardless of what we do or don't do in any given sphere of our influence.

We need to decide that we're ready to sacrifice for what we believe, and then do everything we can to make sure that we don't have to. That's my conviction, anyway. I hope it makes sense to you when you think about it, too.

"Kindly"?

That means a lot coming from the one who posted the snooty message.

Consider yourself ignored.

Whose standards? Whenever they meet the same standards as the men they are fighting with, then I will accept that they belong there.

I guess that is why women were chosen to have babies, because that doesn't feel like a battle ;)

"I also have issues with women menstrating and such during combat, dug in or captured but wont go into this on this thread."

You ever see a marine so scared he lost control of his bowels,

I have.

It isn't pretty and is more shocking then dealing with a woman on her menses.

If your argument against women in the military all boils down to the issue of pregancy and menstration, I would gleefully point out that women know how to handle both and have since the begining of time.

NOW et al have done much to the detriment of women (and men).
Their intellectually and morally bereft philosophies have produced young women and men who have no sense of family or self and no respect for one another.
Of course, if your agenda is to destroy the family so the state can raise the children imbued with Leftist doctrine, then they probably think they're doing well.

I am not going to continue on this thread with this discussion but please ping me to another thread if it comes up.

However...Not all women know how to handle the responsibility of menses and pregnancy....
