Poisonous snakes never evolve into something warm, friendly and trust worthy. They are like the scorpion in the Aesop Fable.

You can take the boy out of the KGB, but you can't take the KGB out of the boy.
Communism is a worldview. The external symbols may have crumbled in Russia and other nations in the former USSR, but many still embrace it.

Poisonous snakes never evolve into something warm, friendly and trust worthy. The Russian aid to our enemy Saddam--while obstructing our liberation campaign--demonstrates the unchanged core of the country.
Bush did not see any soul in Putin's eyes--for there is none there.
Bush's statement he "trusts" Putin ought to be taken in context of the late Dr. Fred Schwarz' motto, "You can trust the communists--to be communist."
There must be a price for Putin's treachery beginning with no Russian role in post-war Iraq.
Remember that Russia now sells arms to China, Syria, Iran--while we pay for its nuclear security through Nunn-Lugar.
Russia is an enemy, not an ally.
