I agree with you 100% -- the United States Government was duped into thinking the Communist who ran Russia had changed when they had only put on a new face and not really changed inside! Maybe if the Clinton Administration hadn't dessimated the CIA as an intelligence gathering organization and relied on sattelites instead, if even that, we would have known more what was happening in the Soviet Union. Would bet clinton was just as happy not to know what his buddies were up to!
