What's with Jerry Rivers Prayer-a-thon?

The last three times I have caught Geraldo since he returned to the 101st in Iraq, he has ended his show with the Chaplain saying a prayer. In fact this one had two prayers.
Don't get me wrong, in no way am I against it, I just find it curious. Wasn't there something about him and religion not long ago?
They say war is hell but in Geraldo's case it may have been the other way around.

The Chaplain was saying a prayer over a body of a US soldier they recovered.

I thought it was beautifully done by the Chaplain. And great that Geraldo and FOX were not so PC that they wouldn't televise it.

Geraldo is an entertainer. He's after ratings, and will do what he thinks will get them. He can quickly turn from a Clinton-loving, Christian-bashing leftist cretin to a troop-supporting, prayer-saying right-winger because he doesn't actually believe in anything.

    Ditto to ypur post, Terilyn.
How ya doin" friend?

Geraldo has asked the chaplain to pray at the end of every 'At Large' that I have seen since he went to the mideast. One night I was mad because they cut to commercial in the middle of it. Tonight I told my husband that Geraldo must have figured out to start the prayer sooner so they could get the whole thing in before the end of the show. I know a lot of freepers have trashed Geraldo, but as long as there is a God people can change.

Very gutsy of Geraldo to let us share the prayer with the troops. I noticed the chaplain mentioned that he has asked Fort Campbell to keep up with their "prayer assault". If people didn't know before that we do have chaplains who pray for our troops before they go into battle it is about time they learned.

I have a hard time understanding the hatred of Geraldo. I used to dislike him a whole lot, but I am capable of forgiveness. I think he has seen at least some of the light. I also believe he sincerely supports the troops.
Sheesh......there are so many others that deserve it more than Geraldo. I give him the benefit of the doubt.

I see you're in the 'jumping to the wrong conclusion exercise club'...did I say I support Jerry Rivers? No. Just because I don't exhibit hatred of him don't assume I support him.

I tend to agree. When he first came to Fox News, he said 9/11 changed his life and made him realize how wrong he had been. I'll take him at his word until he gives me reason to doubt him. For some, the sand drawing was reason enough. I can understand that, but I think he was just stupid. Who knows.

Agreed. So, he's a ham and an egomaniac. Who isn't, in that business? Who do you prefer, Geraldo or Katie Couric? I think I could have a beer with Geraldo, and have a good time. Can't say that about most newspeople.
