You Would Have Liked Dennis Miller Tonight
HBO ala PackerBoy

For those of you who are HBO deprived, I have to say that Dennis Miller was entertaining and refreshingly conservative (for the most part) in his one-hour special tonight. The special will be re-aired a number of times on HBO and its sister cable channels (HBO2, etc.). Do yourself a favor and watch, or get a friend to tape it for you.

We do need to further his education in regard to the Second Amendment and abortion. But he has come so far that we must be patient. Rome wasn't built in a day.

Pardon my contradiction, but I found the first 10 minutes of the show so lame that I had to change the channel. (Maybe it improved from then?) One would almost think he was doing something Andy Kaufman-like where he was deliberately being awful and cliched. Jokes about... how slow the post office is.. about buying the "autobiography of Malcom the Tenth." Aged references about such matters as the India-Pakistan tensions. Ugh!

Congrats on the gun purchase...9mm is what I'm lookin' at.
You will probably blow a bigger hole on "something" though...LOL
To: DWPittelli
Yes, it was very slow in the beginning, but he did pick up the pace as he went along.
To: DWPittelli
It did improve.

You should have hung in there.

The .357 is great. But I am now coveting a a .45 ACP made by Springfield Armory (their "Trophy Match" model).

Audience from CHICAGO gave him standing ovation!!

Man - you missed it.....he rolled through the liberals, the ACLU, Clintons, Middle East etc. non-stop....he torqued it pretty good.

Enjoyed the show, always liked Dennis Miller. The caribou at the end was a good finale.

I could've done without the NRA rant. 'At least as hard to get a gun license as a pilot's license'? Er....ugh, that's pretty horrifying.

I caught him on Leno the other night, and to be honest.. I didn't like what I saw.
He gave the Libs a real ripping, I will give him that.. But he did it in a way that painted him and his (our) "side" as shrill and intolerant.
There was nothing thoughtful about his presentation. It was one big "F-U" to the left.
He was right, I won't argue that.. My objection revolves more around his presentation than it does the content.
I wish he would have been a little more reflective, it would have had so much more impact. Imagine the difference between listening to James Carville and Don Rumsfeld. Or Michael Moore and Dick Cheney.
Either of these two pairs could come out and make exactly the same point. But Rumsfeld & Cheney would come across as mature and thoughtful, while James and Mike would just sound shrill and arrogant.

He stuck it to the libs and the french real good. That's good enough for me.

I must say, I am shocked.
I remember Dennis as a smart-mouthed young guy, and nothing but.

Damn...everybody tells me to go to the .45....
I'll look it up and check it out...see how it feels.
The Beretta 9mm felt great in my hand, but I didn't fire it.
