Operation Infinite FReep, Columbia, Mo. 04/12/03

We broke the rules this morning. FReepers had agreed not to oppose the peacenik’s message after the war started, but to instead support our troops. However, since the war took such a dramatic turn this week, we couldn’t resist one weekend letting the peacenik’s see what has been done not in their name. Especially since their protest does not seem to reflect the reality of what has occurred in Iraq, and the joyous expression of freedom by Iraqis for Iraqis. Besides, what else could be done with large pieces of yellow paper?

Local citizens once again opposed the peacenik demonstration at the Columbia Post Office. We were quite amused by the broccoli sign being displayed again. As amusing was their sign declaring “Liberate Iraq.” Iraq is now free, no thanks to them. As always, these anti-American protesters have no compassion in their hearts except for socialist goals and the totalitarian regimes that inevitably grow from those goals. Arab fear, poverty, and oppression means less to them than their goal to condemn corporations, America and Israel and promote their anti-democratic socialist designs. Their agenda has been exposed for the fraud it is…just as France is exposed as a selfish and greedy partner of Saddam and his Baath Party fascists.

We were thrilled to support our country, our troops, and freedom for the Iraqi people. With each victory the Iraqi people experience Americans can rejoice that soon Iraqis will be able to walk the streets of their own country without worrying about the cold, chilling touch of the secret police on their shoulder. It might seem trite to the cynics in the press and academe, but freedom means something. It means more than just clean water and bread; slaves were watered and fed so that they could work for the Master. “Social Justice” starts with freedom from torture, oppression and secret police visits in the night. Justice for Iraq begins with their freedom; a quality bought with the blood of our troops, their citizens and their brave dissidents.

Let us all pray to God, both Christian and Muslim, that they seize the freedom purchased at such price with both hands and never let it go.

There is none so blind as he who will not see.

A special tribute to Not In My Name!
