RULE #1, Never ever give criminals a plateform to spew their lies!! Who the HELL ok'ed his terms for surrender? The US should have NEVER agreed to a Germ reporter and camera to accompany him! Something is really wrong with this picture!! BIG BIG MISTAKE!

To me it looks like they are somehow promoting the unrest, maybe by infiltrating certain sectors and inducing looting.

Hey, they didn't let those 15,000 prisoners loose before the war started for nothin' you know. ;-)

Would not surprise me in the least if he spilled his guts to save his arse and at the same time send the rest of Sodamites swiftly to the gallows.

The United States is planning to issue decks of playing cards to its troops depicting the 55 most wanted leadership figures. Al-Saadi, number 55, appears on the seven of diamonds card.

55? Don't decks of cards have 52 cards?

I don't think it's necessary to do anything drastic.

Once Saddam is gone, as he is now, I am sure that he will tell us everything willingly. We may have to give him a few millions, but it's worth it. The guy was probably not involved in any actual atrocities, his job was to fool the UN inspectors, and he probably hated Saddam too, just saw which side of his bread had the butter.

I believe that any of the top 55 Scum Bags who helped Saddam rule with his reign of terror are as guilty as he was.

He didn't know what they were doing in the prisons, just like the Germans knew nothing about the camps.

He didn't feel guilty? Goering, Goebels, Hess and Himler had no feelings of guilt either.

Let me guess. He was just following orders.

Ironically he gave up to a German state run TV news crew. We should send him there, he will feel at home.

Did we not know where he lived? Could we have checked it out? Am I missing something?

He knew his end is coming.

By surrendering to a German (somewhat skeptical of anything US) TV crew before his end actually came he is trying to define the terms of his surrender. Instead of being zip tied, on his knees, head down with a sand bag on his head, he hopes to avoid the humiliation/danger and possibly save some of his empire by surrendering on his terms (somewhat). It's a ploy where the German media is being used to bring attention to him and possibly thus avoiding the fait of many other Bath party members. His surrender was not out of kindness, he either surrender or get caught by us or get killed by other Iraqis.

We probably did not even know where he was, if we did the location might not have been accessible yet or he was just a lower priority target. In either case, he was smart for doing what he did. This makes him no more moral or virtues. He is a German speaker, with a German wife, surrendering to a German news (so called news) crew; where Germany took a very negative view of this conflict from the get go. I would not be surprised if the news crew had been contacted/approached by his aids. They surely did not know either where he was until he saw himself cornered.
