How about this: The U.S. will give the U.N. a roll in disarming Syria, North Korea, Lybia, and Iran. If they do well there, then they can have a roll in rebuilding them.
It's too late to have a hand in rebuilding Iraq.

Last time I checked none of those talking pieces had a dog in this fight.

im pretty tired about hearing this "international law" bit. Its U.N. law which to us mean absolutely nothing

Should they have it both ways? Before the war Russia, France, Germany and China et al didn't want to abide by the UN charter #1441. Now these same countries are saying the US should capitulate to the UN's wishes. Not!!

Prefer Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz suggestion that Russia, France and Germany could contribute to postwar reconstruction by writing off Iraq's debts. Best political suggestion on the table.

Putin got one thing right - the role for the UN
is ours to give or to not give. Possession is 9/10 of the law - and, for better or worse, the coalition now posesses Iraq - not The UN or France, Germany and Russia!

Tell you what, Putz, I mean Putin. Iraq needs their bathrooms spit-shined. You and Jackoff, I mean Jacques, can come on down and start right now. I'm sure the free folks of Iraq would just love to see your smiling feces, I mean faces. I hear they are just estatic to see old friends of Sadead, I mean Saddam.
International law? Could you please define international law for us? Oh, you mean now you're interested in international law. Just one more question for you. WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?

My first thought was to allow the U.N. to pay for this operations for which we did the hard part by sacrificing blood. But since much of the U.N. funding comes from us, maybe that isn't such a great idea. I think France, Germany and Russia should pay for it to redeem themselves.

If the US and GB cave in and give the UN a major role then the weasels will have:
1. Influence in Iraqi reconstruction, ensuring they get a piece of the pie and their contracts/agreements/debts get honored.
2. Share the spoils of war even though they adversely affected every aspect of this campaign, maybe even jeopardizing American lives.
The weasels should NOT profit from our blood, our tax money. French, German, Belgian and Russian interests should not be respected or honored in a post Saddam Iraq. This UN role is nothing more than them attempting to leverage influence under the umbrella of the UN. These nations will surely like if Iraq honors its debts, oil drilling contracts and continue to buy their products. They brought this upon themselves. Screw them. If Bush goes that route, it will be a big minus for him.
Powel was right. This was a test of the UN. They failed. Mr. Kofi Annan, you and your organization do not deserve the right to take a cut, pay yourselves by distributing the wealth and managing the forces we have there anyway. Why should we put our forces under your banana rule? Your organization failed in Bosnia, Somalia and DOZENS of other places. Youre a middleman that takes a cut but is incapable. You have discredited your organization and yourself. Shut up and fade away, go to some remote place and write your memoirs.
