Tonk, thanks for the ping!
Colt .45 thank you for your service to our country!!
I stand in awe of the courage and strength of all the brave men and women who are representing this country so well in Iraq. God bless each and every one of them for their sacrifices; especially those who gave the ultimate sacrifice. We shall NEVER forget them!

Now that she's living here in the US .. she sees that what has been depicted in the media and from Hollywood is not what the US is truthfully about.. she now realizes that there are people here that are decadent and disrespectful but that is not the norm.. just like in her home country there are those that fit that description but not the average citizen.

Our guys our the BEST, the BRIGHTEST and the MOST COURAGEOUS.
Proud to be an American? You bet I am!

her impression before she met my son was that the US was made up of sex fiends and those who were disrespectful of their elders.. that violence was rampant.. all thanks to Hollywood ..
This is a real problem. If my only images of America were from movies,tv I'd probably hate it too.

I don't know how I could be prouder of our men and women over there. Not just for what they've done, but the way they've done it.

Thank you for this post. I couldn't be prouder.
My son spent 7 years in the Army, and is a much better person because of it.
