I had to be dragged kicking and screaming from a 13" screen, Windows 3.1, 28K modem, etc.
I swear there were times upgrading and buying new stuff that I wished for that system. It worked. I think it was even 2400 baud rate.
Of course, I was doing this when Compuserve had forums and chat rooms that cost an extra $1.95 per hour to use. I remember addicted folks spending $200 a month or more using them.
Now, you have to upgrade or lose service and support for your old programs and stuff. I hate it. I have some great DOS based games that won't run on XP.

I know what you mean. I got a Myst CD but it will only run on Windows 95 and I've got 2000.

You can pick up old computers cheap. I got a 1982 IBM origional double floopy with monitor for $5 at a yard sale. I still had those old programs and wanted to play them. I know what you mean about upgrading. I wish I had kept every system and the software to go with them. Some puters were damn good.
