Good Morning.

This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.

It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.

Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help!  If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

< img src="http://www.army.mil/cmh-pg/daseal2.jpg" alt="Army Logo" width="151" height="150" >

To all who helped this get started and keep it running, thank you!

Special thanks to Null and Void for keeping these threads running on the weekends, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, Ragtime Cowgirl for her Exclusive Live Transcription Service™, Fledermaus for his 15 minutes of fame, and, of course, Belly Girl...

"So if they were that weak, where we could just roll over them like that, tell me again how he was such a big threat in the past?" the senator added.
He and Nancy Pelosi need to get thier heads out of thier butts. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

The Admin never said Iraq's CONVENTIONAL military was a threat. It was WMD plus support for terrorism.

Pres Bush said in Sept 2001 that the WOT would be against all terrorist groups of global reach and the states that support them.

The Dems are counting on us not remembering that.

We remember.

I do NOT like her at all. Very self-serving.

And, of course, she works for a network that HID facts from the world that might have kept our troops out of danger!

In case anybody here still hasn't seen this:

I think Rummy's referencing that CNN/NTY "News we didn't tell you" story. "No free press.... Ba'ath party setting up headquarters in hospitals and schools."

This woman is CNN's Barbara Starr, asking questions in her booming manvoice.

Oh, one of the bad Barbaras. Her voice is annoying. She reminds me of one of my most irritating principals. Rummy should tell her to stuff it but he is better than I am.

Mike Gallagher's wife is a clinton loving lib. Wonder what she is thinking these days. Does Mike ever comment.

He used to be on in NY metro area but is not heard here anymore.

The New York Times' entire front page as war news, no "below the fold" stuff today. Maybe that's what he's talking about.

Concur....you know, when the side effects of this start to sort themselves out diplomatically, Chirac may just have hit the trifecta....wiped out the UN, the EU, and NATO all at the same time.......hmmmm?..does that mean we have to thank him?

Yes, she's one of the Bad Barbaras.

My mother, OTOH, is one of the Good Barbaras.

Yeah, ok that tells me that the regime had cleaned out the hospitals -- the ones that the people have to go to at least.

Mike Gallagher is a pig. He was one of the biggest cheerleaders for Janet Reno's jackbooted thugs sending Elian back to Cuba.

Can you imagine? If the military had assumed a policing role right off the bat? Without missing a beat the spin would be they were exceeding their mandate and the sympathetic coverage would switch to the looters.

Not pinned on any understanding or real sympathy, but merely because they assume an adversarial role by glomming onto whatever they can portray as negative.
