Ventura County - City of Camarillo rally

The City of Camarillo is holding a big city-sponsored Support the Troops Rally on Friday, April 25 at 7:00 pm at Constitution Park. They are providing a special area for military personnel and their family to congregate. They ask that people bring a picture of their deployed loved one for display during the rally. They are hoping to have a huge turnout. They really love and support our military families.

The City of Camarillo wants us to help them get fliers out and tie yellow ribbons along the trees that surround the military housing in Camarillo. I have the ribbon and the fliers.

Can we coordinate some Camarillo activity? I was going to walk the military housing complex on Saturday and pass out fliers - anyone want to help for an hour or so? How about tying up some ribbons? (I can't tie ribbons to save my life)

I'm going to pass out stuff on Sunday as well to any attendees at the mini-rally. That how I originally got involved with the City. They read about the rally in the paper and wanted to know if I had pulled a permit! I told them it wasn't really my rally but would be glad to help them with theirs.

I'm sorry, I can't volunteer to help you this weekend. But I'll be more than happy to get some flyers from you and post some here on Point Mugu and over on Port Hueneme. I'll also distribute some through out Camarillo and my husband can take some to Ventura.

I've found a use for my rally sign during the week. Every day at work I've been putting it in the front window of my car and parking it facing the street.

That would be great if you could get them to Pt. Mugu and Port Hueneme - the City of Camarillo asked very specifically about those areas.

I have 800 fliers (mostly black and white) but can get some colored one as well. Is there a place we can meet to do a "hand-off"? I live over by the big Catholic church on Las Posas but can meet you anywhere.

sorry, let me explain. Saturday morning I have time to put ribbons until about 900 am, then I need to go to Port Hueneme for track and thought I would go to their rally. ALSO...if you want to meet me at Starbucks early in the morning tomorrow around 745 or 8 am - I can pick up some flyers and take them to Port Hueneme Family Service Center so the people have them for Saturday. Also...who is coordinating? I would like them to include the foodshare or Operation Home FRont in their info.

Wowee..........I am thrilled, impressed that our city is sponsoring this rally!! To make it even better news, we have lead time to "get the word out" Once I get the fliers I will take them personally to the churches, police station and other local venues.........count me in for whatever way I can help. I just dropped off about 100 at Family Services....I know they will get them out. Also tomorrow will hand some out at the Hueneme Rally unless CamSupporter is cog on that.
