Ironic that the popular current baby name in the disputed territories is Saddam.

And the man the first Iraqi free baby, George, is named after, President Bush, wants to give nation state status to these Arafat terrorists!

I recently met a Christian Iraqi family who left Iraq through Jordan last year, whose last name is "Georges" (and they are big Bush supporters).

In light of the news of our injured troops today.. it was indeed nice to hear this story. I imagine we'll be seeing a lot of little Georges, and Georgettes, or even Laura's, or Rummy's,.. Or Condi's, or Colin's,.. as time goes by, and they hear the names of those connected to the administration that liberated them.

We may be seeing a lot more of this kind of thing.

We need to hear the good as well as the bad.

Thanks for providing a smile today!

Very cool! I'm sure the real GWB is very humbled. There will be more little George's and Georgette's for sure.

Spruce brought this familliar-looking Iraqi child to our attention yesterday. I wonder what his name is.

I think it reminds us all, why we are fighting and making the sacrifices: to protect ourselves, but also to free the Iraqi people from tyranny, who at least appreciate it, unlike a lot of other people we helped (the French come to mind).

When I saw soldiers interviewed, they all said, that the gratitude of the Iraqi people raises their morale, to see that their actions are indeed deeply appreciated.

I wouldn't call it "ironic". Probably it's an attempt to provide the child and the parents with some small bit of protection against arrest and torture, on the theory that the thugs might hesistate to torture a child who's named Saddam, or parents who display such loyalty as to name their child after the Thug-in-Chief.

I know what you mean. I was just mentioning to a freeper here, that I can see the pure joy on the faces of our troops as they hold children or celebrate with the liberated Iraqi people.

BTW,.. there is a group of exiled Iraqi's who enjoy the pics and posts here on FR. They have a radio station. Here is the addy:

Sorry, I should have made it clear. I just saw it on CNBC, their reporter from Baghdad reported it live earlier.
