MSNBC's Bob Arnott: Iraqi Hospitals Filled Children with Gunshots - From Saddam's Fedeyeen
MSNBC | 4-10-2003

Posted on 04/10/2003 8:26:51 AM PDT by SHKMAN1212

Bob Arnott was just on MSNBC reporting that he had traveled to many of the hospitals in the area and assisted in the care for the many children in the facilities that have been struck by gunfire (he's also a doctor). He said he was unsure what the mood in the hospitals would be but found the doctors and patients to be "ecstatic" that Saddam was gone. He then said that the gunshots were all made by small caliber weapons that the U.S. Army does not have and, when he inquired further about the cause of the wounds, he was told by parents and hospital staff that the paramilitary forces were shooting kids on purpose to make it look like the U.S. forces were inflicting civilian casualties.

Inches this was one of the reasons it was nicknamed "The Poisoned Bullet" by the Afghanistan fighters. The bullet contains an air pocket at the nose and a steel core that when it hits a surface moves forward further unbalancing it. What the 5.56x45 does going out this one does all the way thru.

Actually when Nato standerized the SS109 loading and the more rapid rifling twist rate for the 5.56x45 for the M-16 it lost quite a bit of the explosive damage it caused to get better penetration.

Ironic, isn't it? Civilian casualties in Iraq are victims of the Fedayeen, and the Fedayeen are actually hired thugs from other Arab countries. Al Jazeera shows images of these civilian casualties 24/7, drumming them into the minds of viewers in those Arab countries and fanning the flames of hatred. These viewers then vent their rage against the coalition, totally unaware that the civilian casualties are being deliberately caused by thugs from THEIR own countries. What a joke.

The problem with the anti-war protesters POV is that they not only want to protest the police who are there to help the hostages, but they want to blame the police for every hostage that is shot by their captors.

A very apt analogy. I've always seen this war in terms of a SWAT team taking out an armed and dangerous criminal holding hostages who refused to disarm and surrender. The human shields not only condemn the SWAT team for its actions, they totally ignore the joy of rescued hostages and refuse to hold the criminal accountable for the deaths and damage he's caused. They are utterly morally bankrupt, yet they pretend to hold the moral high ground. What utterly twisted and warped people. They really should be confined in a rubber room.

Let the LW try and defend this garbage.

They will, you can count on it. Leftists are totally morally bankrupt and totally morally blind. They are completely unaware of the ugliness of their own souls, and deluded in their conviction they are morally superior. The result of this is that they project their own evil on others, and then respond to it. That's why when a liberal calls you a rascist, he's really talking about himself, but he's not aware of it. The liberal's way of dealing with his own evil is to deny it to himself, then project it on his favorite target -- a right-winger. Because of their internal corruption, they are unable to look at the liberation of Iraq and see it for the altruistic thing that it is. They see it as some sort of conspiracy and crime, because they see it through the prism of their own evil.

I heard this and thought it was the most irresponsible thing to come our of Bob's mouth.

1) nobody can conclude that Fedayeen caused the wounds based on the size of the bullet hole.

2) We predominatley use the smaller caliber weapons on the battle field [.223] vs whatever and AK uses [7.62?]

This is the exact kind of BS I hate to see reported.

When I was in Vietnam in the late "60's it was evident that one of the objectives of the local mining of roads by the Viet Cong was to prevent children from going to school. The military ran a road sweep more or less daily, whenever we needed to use the roads, but the mines were there until we swept or until the indigenous population set them off. And the school children, of course, were one of those groups that had a schedule they tried to keep, and so they were among the principal victims of the Cong, Jane Fonda, and all the people who thought Viet Nam would amount to something after all these years without democracy.

The local Iraqi Shi'ites told them to go home.

It is my fervent hope that once all the chaos is over and things settle down, the new Iraqi government absolutely rips the rest of the Arab world a new one. It would make my heart sing to see the liberated Iraq condemn all the other Arab governments for all their lies and corruption and depravity. The new Iraq will be instrumental in a massive paradigm shift in the Middle East, shattering all the myths and destroying all the propaganda. Many Arabs will see the truth and step into the light, while the extremists will be driven even more insane than they already are and will self-destruct in their self-imposed darkness.

Don't worry, Susan, Michael, Tim, Martin, Sean and the rest of you.

The Hollywood liberal elites have proven themselves to be the false idols of our time. Worshipped by millions, these rich and famous beautiful people look good on the outside, but on the inside they are nothing more than amoral sewage. Whited sepulchres, as Christ called the scribes and pharisees, full of dead men's bones and all corruption. They parade around pretending to hold the moral high ground, but they are the absolute dregs of humanity. They are totally vacuous, pretty packaging with absolutely nothing within, and nothing more than the triumph of style over substance. Moral lepers, every single one of them, and hopefully they will be shunned by all decent human beings. Hopefully, the position they've chosen in this war has exposed their worthlessness to as many people as possible, and they'll find little comfort outside of the deluded community they inhabit. With any luck, they'll move to France, where they can continue to be admired by those who admire garbage and congratulate themselves for their false sophistication.

It would be very consistent with a doctor who has been treating these wounds and that has seen some of the recovered bullets.
5.45x39: AK74: 60 grain: Bullet relatively remains in one piece and tumbles very quickly 2-3". Has a steel core.
5.56x45: M-16: 62 grain: Bullet tumbles after 6-8", has tendency to break/fragment at the cannular.

The AK-47: 7.62x39: .311: normally uses a 123grain bullet it is also quite common for them to be steel jacketed.
The M-60: 7.62x51: .308: normally uses a 147grain bullet it has a copper based jacket.

Yes, the "cult of celebrity" as celebrated daily by The View, Oprah, the Today Show, E! Network and all the rest.

Bill 'n' Hill were our first real "celebrity" First Couple, which is the MAIN reason they got such staunch support from the Left.

And SHE ain't known as Hillary! for nothin'.

Ironic and sad.

The good news is we just beat a Totalitarian Regime. The bad news is, there are plenty more out there and they are producing a global fog of Totalitarian Lies. A fog that's perpetuated in our own country by our homegrown totalitarian-loving leftists and liberals.

We just won a war on a single Totalitarian Dictator.

Now it's time to wage a more longterm War on Totalitarian Lies. This is going to require real effort, imagination, and creativity from all of us. Too bad we're not going to get any help from the official Creative Sector of our own society. The Hollywood Left is too busy working overtime for the enemy.

"I wonder, do you suppose Peter Arnett is proud of his 'interview' for Arab street consumption now?"

I am certain he's proud of it and will remain so, no matter what. The left is always proud of their evil handiwork, no matter how disastrous the results. Those who come to recognize and admit the reality of the consequencesof their lies and their actions (such as Horowitz and Whittaker Chambers) are few and far between (may God bless those few).
