The events benefited broadcasters in need of a new plot, however. ABC, NBC and CBS replaced regular programming yesterday with Iraq coverage at 8:45 a.m., ending almost six hours later.

I dont know what time CBS broke in in the NY area but it was way after 9 as I flicked through all the channels and Martha Stewart show was on CBS.

Don Imus told Jeff Greenfield this morning that they just got some breaking news: Judy Woodruff has been put on suicide watch because of yesterdays events. Greenfield wasn't terribly amused. Imus was quite tickled over his own joke...

Andy Rooney was on the Don Imus show this morning and was resorting to the new liberal, Bush-hating crowd's mantra, "Well, Iraq's military is not like Korea's or anywhere near a superpower like China or Russia...blah, blah..."

I was, however, very surprised to hear him say (if you're not sitting, you might want to...) that it just goes to show you that it was a good thing George Bush is the president and not someone like himself because the President was correct.

It was there only briefly; the gesture raised hardly a cheer from the gathering crowd and a black, white and red Iraqi flag quickly replaced it as a scarf around the statue’s neck.

HOW journalists can be negative after witnessing the liberation of a long-oppressed people mystifies me. I guess it proves they have no heart.

I'm proud of the USMC... if Command does ANYTHING to harm the spirit of those guys, it would be a mistake. They fought their way up hundreds of miles, faced ongoing attack threat, barely got any sleep, had not one drop of showers, limited food/drink supplies, and the best CNN can do is parrot Reuters?

Sky News had a retired Admiral on doing commentary while this was going on. He said he didn't begrudge the Marines their moment of enthusiasm because after all they had put their lives on the line for the Iraqi liberation. He was bursting with pride and pleasure.

I love it. Have you ever noticed how people are
ashamed they are watching this stuff? It's always
something like....

Not ashamed at all.....when you have the same thing on every network and cable station, flipping through to see what everybody is saying is enlightening.

I think everyone is missing the point here.

What truly ticked off the Socialist Networks was one thing and one thing only: the sight of the hated Stars and Stripes.

They hate the flag for what it represents. Their actions, their words, their very coverage just scream it, lest some of you accuse me of a kneejerk comment. They hate everything that flag stands for.

Point: If that soldier had been wearing a blue helmet and had put a U.N. flag atop Saddam's face, you would have heard orgasmic cheering from Peter, Katie, et al.......I bloody well guarantee it.

Then why do they make such extravagant excuses for luxuriating in codswallow? Watch the next instance of someone quoting from DU. No, it's shame that they are attracted to the crap in the first place.
