I agree with you, and thought that a victory in Iraq would be a great help to bringing Syria into line. However, it looks like they may have decided to continue to oppose the US and throw in with terror, in spite of our success in the war. If they are hiding WMDs and Baath party officials in Syria, they will give us no choice but to put them on our "to do" list, instead of our "double secret probation" list.
Iran is in wait and see mode. North Korea is in "give China a chance to be responsible" mode. Syria is ripe for the picking, we just need to keep going west after Tikrit. If I were them, I'd start issuing soft cooing noises real fast.

Give it time, it's only been 21 days since the first bomb fell. All of the Arab world is going to be publicly pretty rude right now, back channels are the important thing and we'll never know what's going on there. At the end of this month, when the dust has settled some, we'll get a feel for where Syria et al stand.
