For the first couple of hours, women and girls hid in the background. But once it was clear that Charlie Company meant no harm, little girls began jockeying for position among the boys and men. Their mothers and older sisters hung back near the doors to their houses, but they waved enthusiastically as the Marines moved through town. The Iraqi Army and their Security Police have been infamous for raping every female they could find - all ages. It's good for them to see how civilization works.

Yes, he has slowed our advance by forcing us to rush more gum and chocolate to the front lines for the children. :) Also, we spent more time pulling down the statue that it took to take the airport.

When the convoy approached this alleged enemy stronghold, the company was hit, all right -- by an army of jubilant children that mobbed the Marines like they were rock stars. "Mis-tah! Mis-tah! Bush good!" they shouted at the stunned Marines.
Wonderful story! I found a similar one earlier today at work, and had to get one of my students to read it to the rest of the class - I couldn't read it aloud without crying.
Hopelessly mushy.

Hey, I am in tears too. God bless our Troops, our President, all our leaders of this magnificent war effort. The liberal press lackeys are not worthy to untie the bootstraps of ONE of these soldiers! Or of the suffering Iraqi people who have endured Saddam's torture chambers and slaughter houses of their loved ones.....
Surely the Angels of God today are also rejoicing!!!

Whatever could you possibly mean? You are one of those people who needs a "laugh" sign when they go to the movies, so they know what parts of the movie they are supposed to think are funny, aren't you?

I wish we could create some monument to present to them to honor their liberation. Statue of Liberty type of thing, that would be a slap to the French also. he he
