WTF!? What are they celebrating? How do you celebrate and cheer on the imperalistic thugs that just dropped 20,000+ bombs and missiles on your country, flattened your cities, and murdered hundreds-- if not thousands--of your friends and neighbors. I just don't understand this world anymore. These are the words of someone who has lived his or her entire life in comfort and freedom. Having family members who lived under Nazi occupation, I can absolutely understand why people living in fear under a tyrant would cheer even the inferno of war if it means an end to that regime.

Here's another good one:
"i love it how in most of these "cheering" crowd stories.. They never bother to stop and ask an Iraqui citizen why they're happy. They never quote anyone by name. We're just left to assume that since they're cheering, they must love America, and hate Saddam. Not to say that there aren't some people who feel that way, but to presume that of all Iraquis just so we can fell less guilty about our dirty little war is just sick."

Absolutely. Many of my family came from Cuba and they feel the same way.
BTW: To Angelus, thought this would interest you.

These are the words of someone who smokes too much pot.

This shows how the arrogant people at DU do not understand the value of freedom. Maybe if they lived under a fascist dictator they'd understand.
