About the Statue toppling...

It rreminds me of a small child who has birthday gifts but can't wait for the child to try and open them so the adult rips them open for him. Its their country. Let them have the thrill of toppling their enemies symbol, let them rename landmarks, let them regulate their own oil--fiction is great isn't it!?

OMG!! How elitist can you get! They think of the Iraqi's as children!!

When I was watching I got the impression the Iraqi's asked for help. They were pounding on the base, then Fox cut to another group of Iraqis burning a poster of Saddam (must have been near the statue I recognized the really big muscular guy that doused it with gas from the statue), then when they cut back nobody was by the statue but there was a huge group next to the armored vehicle on the street. Another cut to the poster, cut back to the statue and the AV is driving up the stairs to the statue. Looked like they talke the Marines into helping out.

Of course the DUers will never see it that way. I feel bad for them. 22 million people have just been freed from a bloodthirsty dictator and their own blind alleigance to a political party is keeping them from enjoying it. As much as I hate Clinton if he'd pulled this off (not possible since he has no character, but let's pretend) I'd be just as happy. Who's in the Oval Office today doesn't matter, what matters is that 22 million people who weren't free yesterday are today.
