Protesters attack Garofalo show With Ashley Pearson, MSNBC

Will another anti-war celeb take a career hit? Bush supporters have been deluging ABC with calls and e-mails, complaining about a sitcom the network has in development starring outspoken war protester Janeane Garofalo. ABC HAS reportedly been working on the comedy, in which Garofalo plays a producer at a TV newsmagazine.

The pro-war protesters are threatening to organize a major campaign against ABC, including a boycott of advertisers, if the network airs the show.

"We do not wish to see the faces of liberal Hollywood, particularly those that provided aid and comfort to Saddam Hussein," protester Jon Alvarez e-mailed ABC. "We will stand up and fight for our right to request their exclusion from shows and sponsors that seek our attention."

Spokesmen for ABC and Garofalo had no comment.

Ditto. Let the show flop on it's own, like most of her projects. It's funny, I used to kind of like her, not so much on her own, but she's done a lot of funny cameos on shows I like. I never expected her to be a conservative, but she always put on such an air of cynicism that I didn't think she be a total dupe for the left.

MIDI - BLOWIN' IN THE WIND

How many beers would it take for you to…do Janeane Garofalo
(Tell me) How many Bud Lights would you have to chug…to tell her please do not go
(Tell me) How many cases of good German ale…before you'd let your love flow
Well, the answer, my friends ---- they don't brew that much beer
The answer ---- they don't brew that much beer

How many gallons of Thunderbird wine…before you'd be drunk enough
(Tell me) Just how much Ripple you'd have to ingest…before you'd go for that stuff
(Tell me) How many liters at under two bucks…to see that wench in the buff
Well, the answer, my friends ---- the world is short of grapes
The answer ---- the world is short of grapes

How many Black Russians would you pour down…to keep from running away
(Tell me) How many quarts of some vodka or Scotch…to say, "I guess it's okay"
(Tell me) How many bowls of 200 proof punch…before you're ready to play
Well, the answer, my friends ---- they don't make that much booze
The answer ---- they don't make that much booze
The answer ---- they don't make that much booze

"Someone on another thread said she told O'reilly that she would crawl on broken glass if the Iraqi's cheered. I hope O'Reilly plays that tape."

Considering her obvious sadistic tendencies, that may be recreation for her.

I would like to request some that Freepers e-mail MSNBC and complain about the disgusting, offensive hit piece that Keith Olbermann did on Geraldo Rivero, last night.

My husband switched to MSNBC during the last commercial break on O'Reilly, just in time to catch the offensive video clip of Geraldo shaking hands with some members of the 101st Airborne. Olbermann stated that the soldiers had requested to opportunity to shake Geraldo's hand after having put their own hands in offensive places and that it was his opinion that the members of the 101st still got the bad end of the deal. Then when we switched back, O'Reilly was asking for donations to the MSNBC reporter's trust fund.

I have never been a big fan of Geraldo, but I think that MSNBC has sunk to new levels with this latest assault on a FOX reporter.

Here is part of an interveiw Bill O'Reilly had with Buffoon Janeane Garafalo. Let's keep her at her Word.

BILL O'REILLY: Do you think that George W. Bush is more of a danger to this world than Saddam?

GARAFALO: I would say he is a danger in a different way, and I'll tell you why.

BILL O'REILLY: More or less than Saddam?

GARAFALO: Equal. In a different way. Wait a minute, and let me say it. I would say [that] there needs to be some accountability for the idea that we might not be where we are right now if some different choices had been made in the wake of 9-11. I would say the with-us-or-against-us rhetoric was not helpful. The Axis of Evil speech was not helpful, and this huge ramping up of war, and this go-it-alone attitude has not been helpful. Now, do I think [Bush is] a crazy, despotic ruler like Saddam Hussein who would pour acid on his own people? Absolutely not.

O'REILLY: OK. Now, I respect your opinion. I think you're wrong, but just the fact that you equate on a moral level, Saddam with George W. Bush…

GARAFALO: I'm not equating on a moral level.

O'REILLY: Yeah, I just asked you a flat out question, Janeane. Who's a bigger threat to the world? And you said, they're equal.

GARAFALO: In a different way.

O'REILLY: When you, when you say that, people out there…they're gonna think you're a loon.

GARAFALO: They're certainly entitled to...

O'REILLY: If you are wrong… and if the United States — and they will, this is going to happen — goes in, liberates Iraq [with] people in the street, American flags, hugging our soldiers… you gonna apologize to George W. Bush?

GARAFALO: I would be so willing to say, "I'm sorry". I hope to God that I can be made a buffoon of, that people will say, "You were wrong. You were a fatalist". And I will go to the White House on my knees on cut glass and say, "Hey, you and Thomas Friedman were right… I shouldn't have doubted you"…

O'REILLY: Nobody will call you a buffoon because I will protect you.

GARAFALO: Thank you, sir.

Notice how they claim that they are "Bush supporters." This makes it sound as if they are somehow connected with the administration, therefore, trying to blacklist her.

It should read, "Iraqi freedom supporters."

Does anyone remember Jeaneane Garafola telling O'reilly she would crawl on broken glass to the White House to apologize to the President if Iraqi's cheered in the street?

Go ahead and remind her!

Think she'll admit she was wrong, now that the Iraqis are cheering and pulling Saddam's statue down? Or do you think she'll pull a DU and say the whole event was staged?

"I think it is hilarious watching leftist activists, like Garofalo, react with utter bewilderment that their own tactics - boycotts, mail campaigns, protests - are being turned against them."

But it's only a boycott when the left does it. When we do it, it's a blacklist.

From the same page:

Hillary Clinton has lost a supporter — anti-war celeb Susan Sarandon. When asked by the hosts of ABC’s “The View” if she was disappointed in the New York senator’s support of the war, Sarandon replied, “Yeah. I’m very disappointed in Hillary.” . . .
