Poor Ms. Dowd who, like all her liberal compatriots, misses the point in their frantic attempt to be "piercing, probing etc." The war was undertaken to rid the Iraqi regime of weapons that could bring death and destruction to Americans, period. All of the secondary benefits are great but the overarching reason was to protect Americans. What is so hard to understand?
