Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Special thanks to Null and Void for keeping these threads running on the weekends, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, Ragtime Cowgirl for her Exclusive Live Transcription Service, Fledermaus for his 15 minutes of fame, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Fox - CIA manhunt underway in Baghdad for Iraqi scientist who worked on WMD. Rewards being offered for info. Rumsfeld says we'll take the info any way we can get it.

It's Richard Engle on CBS Bagcam rehearsing his report.
To: alnick
Richard Engle, reporter for ABC News
Also known as, Pretty Boy
Then, when he wouldn't go down in the street the night our army rolled in, we called him Mr. Chicken.
Pretty Boy + Mr. Chicken = Pretty Chicken.
He's a WANKER!

Sounds like Saddam's military!

O, I heard Sean just say it and I think Shephard Smith did to, but hey described Saddam;s houses as "Palacial Palaces". Isnt that a bit redundent? Like saying the "green greenery"
To: Centurion2000
That should be it's own thread ..... :) Appreciate the thought. The list started because lots of folks ask, on this thread, "what's happened since I last looked?" There have been suggestions for a "news only" thread to run in parallel with this more free-form thread.
I think the present structure (mostly free-form, with occasional summarizing posts) strikes a reasonable balance. I figured to quit preparation of summaries after today anyway. I might post the three-day aggregation of summaries as its own thread.
To: alnick
CBS newsguy... Richard Engle. On the cbs bagcam... flubs his lines (needs at least 30 takes per shot!), is egotistical ("how does my hair look??) What a whiner! Can't stand him!!!

I thought I was having an epiphany. I tried hard to get that, but by the time I got SnagIt loaded, he'd had them fix it. Damn!

Fine. "If they wish to die we will accommodate them as quickly as possible." Bring it on scumbags.

One of Bill Clinton's objectives was (is) to diminish the stature of the US. Imagine that.
He hurt our country but we've got his number. He is not respected anywhere except in Europe and Africa and other insignificant places.

Missed that. Sorry.
Arnot found a *#&%load of boxes marked for Jordan over the weekend.
Jordan gets a pass because a majority of their population are fifth column Palestinians.
The Syrians, however, knew better.
They must pay.
