Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Special thanks to Null and Void for keeping these threads running on the weekends, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, Ragtime Cowgirl for her Exclusive Live Transcription Service, Fledermaus for his 15 minutes of fame, and, of course, Belly Girl...

Must be a bunch of hormonal teenage boys who want to see more of her...hair extensions...that voted for her. It certainly wasn't bacause of her singing ability.
Either that or Baghdad Bob voted a bunch of times. We are know he's totally clueless...

Just put $50 in the mail! Thanks for the reminder. Thanks for supporting Free Republic, and for being a part of making the last 21 days some of the most exciting of our lives!
SitRoom FReepers, we should make this the fastest and shortest FReepathon in history!
Thanks, Jim!
Go there. Donate there. Post there!

I just did it, I feel better now! Just signed up to be a monthly donor. Great, thanks, Jackie-O! The last three weeks wouldn't have been the same without Free Republic, the Situation Room, and you and all the other FReepers!
Yoo-Hoo, everyone else -- you can help keep this great site alive by joining in the Don't we love it! FReepathon!
Even if you spent only an hour a day here (yeah, riiiight!) during these exciting times, what was it worth to you? Freedom isn't free, and neither is our bastion of sanity; please help if you're able.

Wanking is a solitary act. I read this wrong at first. I thought it said "Wanking is my solitary act." LOL! Completely different meaning. I had to read it several times! LOL!

I was suggesting that either one of those could be my human shield. I ment it in an endearing manner... Some people are so eddggyy.. Don't mean to come off as edgy. I knew you meant it in an endearing manner, and I suspect your targets of endearment would rather NOT be referred to as "wankers." If you know what I mean.
Just trying to be friendly helpful. Feel free to ignore.
To: TheLion
I heard that too....but I've heard it before from our troops over there.....damn shame.

Does anyone have a listing, or is there a thread running around, with some listing of charities (honest ones) accepting donations to help the soldiers and their families who were killed and wounded? Oreilly said he had some links on his site, I cannot find them?
To: Wyatt's Torch
Another Ayn Rand fan here, great book, the lady was extremely smart, though her anti-religious nature bothers me sometimes
To: Catspaw
OH!!!!!!!!!!!!! NO!!!!!!!!!!
I had no Idea that's what they (Iraq's) were saying...on that white sign. Oh that is sick......
To: Cboldt
Evening folks. I made it thru work...not without the help of the internet and my cam feeds I must admit. I distracted co workers constantly. We had a great day.
Now for some full time FReeping.
Miss all y'all.
