Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

You gals have great taste. I like them both. I'd be hard pressed to choose between Spec.Ops and the Cigar guy..

LOL We fondly refer to him as "Ceegar Guy." Isn't he adorable??!!

I'm going to be monitoring the next election at a known precint for hanky panky. I'm taking a digital video camera and am going to follow (with others doing the same) those vans and buses that pull up to vote. Good idea - make sure you get license numbers. The perfect catch would be for a van-load of voters to stop and unload at two or more precincts. Collaborate with the others after the election and find a good prosecutor. Go after them. You may not catch them all, but if enough can get nailed and sentenced, it will send a message. People generally don't like jail.

Public figures, such as you, have platforms much larger than the average American's, which provides you an extraordinary opportunity to have your views heard -- and an equally large obligation to act and speak responsiblyThis is sooo great!

O'Reilly: The big losers, Saddam and his sons who at this moment, may be enjoying their new home, in HELL! And he gives Hillary! a big WINNER! Yes! He really did! Because she supported the troops and resisted pressure from the left to mouth off against the war. Imagine that, get kudos from O'Reilly for keeping her mouth shut, and gets $$$ from a publisher while not provising a manuscript. I swear, she is haunted. Maybe O'Reilly is too, just a different spirit.

I like them both. I'd be hard pressed to choose between Spec.Ops and the Cigar guy...Yes and this is just a small sample of them! Someone has a picture of some British or Aussie guys in a helicopter that is really good, too. Mrs. Liberty maybe? Oh! I can't forget Prairiebreeze's outdoor shower pic, too!

Did you hear that the Arab countries cancelled their meeting with the UN about Iraq? Hmm, didn't think it was necessary any longer?
To: US_Pride
Your post speaks for me as well.
I was too young to understand anything but the images on the news. I came away with this impression: soldiers good, protesters violent & crazy.
I will never forget it.
God bless our troops.

I may just head off to UTC in a year or two to get my Masters as a part-time student.

" Did anyone just hear Chris Matthews?
"Why don't those damn Democrats give President Bush his day? He WON!!"
Chris seemed genuinely happy at the outcome, but,he said that " he never thought it would happen, guess I am a pessimist." All Democrats are pessimists. Don't know if "it " was the happy reception or victory. It's amazing that he thought there was any doubt.
