Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

I say we start a betting pool. How fast before the first Dem says "Bush isn't focusing on the domestic problems. He's out of touch"?

What, if any, brain cells they had left are burning as we speak.

That's why I figured the angry Brit's would have written the Magic Marker wordsIt was definately Brits that wrote "Wankers". I work for a British company and am around alot of Brits... it's one of their favorite words. But I think the "U.S. Wankers" is referring to the idiot human shields that came from the U.S. - the guys that wrote it were Iraqis that were educated or spent time in Britain... at least that's my wild-assed guess.

And listen to this: more good news.
At the rally that is going on in Dearborn for all the Iraqi exiles -- who have taken to the streets in support of free Iraq and George W. Bush -- the only hint of trouble came when a group of ex-Iraqis charged two reporters from Al Jazeera and confronted them for their reporting lies; they had to be escorted away from the public park where the exiles are celebrating.

I don't imagine he would feel very comfortable about going home. Looks like he will re-trench and figure something out.

The insults to the human shields is definitely what was meant by those carrying it. They were so happy to be near the soldiers. So the left can try to twist it as they will, but for those of us who actually saw what was going on... it was an insult to the human shields.

Combover will eventually be arrested and become an EPW.

Imagine what must be going through the minds of the Al Jazeera reporters left in Baghdad?
To: Robert A. Cook, PE
I'm positive that's how it is supposed to be read. These guys were in the crowd welcoming the Marines. They were happy to see them. Take it at face value.
