Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Special thanks to Null and Void for keeping these threads running on the weekends, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, Ragtime Cowgirl for her Exclusive Live Transcription Service, Fledermaus for his 15 minutes of fame, and, of course, Belly Girl...

OK, I've seen it all now.
Over on the CBS BagCam it sounds like they're falling all over Pretty Chicken, telling him what a goooooood job he did today. Where were these people the last 20 days?
He's gone to get his crew..."helllo, its' Richard from Baghdad"...so he can film for the Whirled News.

Ever since MSNBC dumped Donapew and added Michael Savage and Joe Scarborough to the lineup, I have been under the impression that the FOX ratings have made them see the light in a way that CNN has not!

This has probably been posted but I saw an Iraqi interviewed today who was changing his name to GWB, plus, they will be renaming streets to honor the names of those that have died to liberate them!

Sheesh....3-2-1 is proud of his little self, huh?
I *know* I won't be watching network news tonight, uh nyuh. Why? I'm planning a celebratory dinner & I really truly don't want it spoiled.

I've only seen Fox say the "looting" was of government buildings and not private businesses.
Why is it looting when it's their stuff to begin with? I say let them have it. They can always buy new stuff from Office Depot.

I have to go to a one-year-old birhday party this evening. I'll tape the panel on Fox, but will y'all post reports on any broadcast news you happen to see? I'd appreciate it!

I didn't mean Little Boy Bush. I ment Boy, Bush. And who are you calling lib?
I'm allowed to forget commas......sometimes...
To: Solson; retrokitten
Sol; Now I just peed myself when I saw your tagline!! I need to take a time out to freshin up. ;0)
Kitten; don't know if your in the over fourty crowd (I'm just over the hump) but you loose a little control when someone really cracks your a$$ up like Solson just did to me.
What a range of emotion today!
Tears of joy
Heart filled with pride
Sorrow for our fallen Soldiers
Worry/concern for our POW's MIA'S
Hope for the newly Liberated
And top it off with a good hearty chuckle!!

What a day!
To: Catspaw
I'd say you'd be ready to be an anti-war protestor.
