CNN, Waltwith 3/7th Marines, majority of Iraqi troops in Baghdad have given up, Mil Officer wouldn't say if that meant they went to ground or fled.
10 busloads of Syrian want to be martyrs stopped at border.
They'd better hurry.

Earlier in the week, the wife of a journalist missing in Iraq showed up at a Powell presser and got to ask him about her husband. I would imagine she was either carrying someone else's press pass or she was allowed to walk in with some press members.Anyone misusing a government press pass during wartime should be arrested. PERIOD.

At least on FR, you know it was the women who were enjoying it. Great point!

There's no way a tank commander would have heard a gun shot from that distance. He's 'shuttered-up' inside a tank with the engine running. The gunner and commander are making quick judgements on danger through their viewing scopes.
Bottom line for these cameramen and journalists....this isn't a f***ing football match you're filming. If a tank gunner in the heat of battle happens to catch a guy looking at him through what looks like a anti-tank weapon scope from a rooftop or balcony, he's gonna take the shot. And he should.

Wasn't the media was warned weeks ago to leave Baghdad?. From ASD PA Clarke Meeting with Bureau Chiefs - Feb 27,2003
"Clarke: Let me just pile on there, and then T. [Capt. McCreary] and anybody else who wants to. On several different levels. One, journalists operating independently of an embedding status. We cannot guarantee their safety and I think most of them recognize that and most of you all recognize that but it's worth putting up on the table.
And Baghdad specifically. It's not a good place to be now, it will not be a good place to be if there is indeed military action. Remember, we preface all these conversations with no decision has been made.
This will not be anything like 1991. In 1991 the purpose was to get them out of Kuwait, limited targets in Baghdad, and not to go into any great detail, but this will not be like 1991. For instance, communications targets in Baghdad are very obviously something we would like to take out. "
