Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Wasn't the media was warned weeks ago to leave Baghdad?.Yup.

there was a pic on DU last night of a whole line of naked British troopers taking a shower. The Hiney Line was NOT a DU exclusive... They probably stole it from FR; it was posted here, and I don't think it got yanked.
See what you're missing by not staying up all night?

I didn't see Shep say it. I was responding to what I had seen posted. I'll take your word for it and I stand corrected.

They don't need to know what is sounds like. Their opiticals show them what it looks like. They can practically see through walls.

That's what he said. Take EVERYTHING that guy says with a grain of salt though (if he says the sky's blue, look out a window to make sure). He writes for The Nation, I believe. Oh I know who he is .. just wanted to make sure I heard him correctly ...
Thanks

Just like the Newsday guy telling Brian on Fox that it just means more to us because........"he is one of our own." Think about that. Aren't our soldiers SUPPOSE TO BE THAT?
I consider all soldiers one of my own.

Did the Dixie Shix win anything last night?A massive amount of boos from the audience the moment their name was mentioned ... and nothing else. A total shutout.

Any one notice the footage of one of the reporters who was killed? Showed him hiding on the balcony by the camera behind a stack of sand bags.
If I'm a tank gunner 400 yards away and I see lens glare behind a pile of sand bags, I'M GONNA SHOOT AT IT!!!

Odd you should say that...most going from right to left are slumped and those going from left to right are straight up and scanning the area. Not as many of them now as there was earlier though.

Tomorrow, I will make a "small" purchase at my local Seer's store and inform the salesperson to inform his manager that my purchase is to let CORPORATE management that I approve and APPRECIATE what the management is doing for LOAYAL Americans.

Yes, many booos! Local talk show host guy went. They boooed every time they were mentioned.
But according to a lot of callers, CMT cut them out and put in canned applause on the replay. And they've replayed it many times since last night.
Sort of like the VH-1 in NY when they booed Hillary!

Excellent point...now all we need is for someunbiased journalists to point that out...send it to Fox news...let them report it and we can decide!!!!
To: umbagi
The Hiney Line was NOT a DU exclusive... They probably stole it from FRLOL, that's a lot better name than "naked butt pic". At least on FR, you know it was the women who were enjoying it.

Hey, that's good advice! ;-)
To: Fledermaus
perhaps next time the US will offer each reporter his own personal Patriot missile. bunch of mealy mouthed pukes. they act all tough and courageous "Live from Baghdad" with their stupid little quotes "The thunder of B52s above us and the blaze of ackack fire in air.." and then they cry like a bunch of sissies when one tank shell hits the edge of their hotel. And the tank shell wasn't even the explosive tipped kind. It's bad enough that they are Saddomite sympathizers, but it's impossible to stomach their self-import.
