Operation Iraqi Freedom
This thread is dedicated to the brave men and women of the
Armed Forces of the United States of America.
"Wish You Were Here"
For all the free people that still protest.
You're welcome. We protect you and you are protected by the best.
Your voice is strong and loud,
but who will fight for you? No one standing in your crowd.
We are your fathers, brothers, and sons,
wearing the boots and carrying guns.
We are the ones that leave all we own,
to make sure your future is carved in stone.
We are the ones who fight and die,
We might not be able to save the world, Well, at least we try.
We walked the paths to where we are at
and we want no choice other than that.
so when you rally your group to complain,
take a look in the back of your brain.
In order for that flag you love to fly
wars must be fought and young men must die.
We came here to fight for the ones we hold dear.
If that's not respected, we would rather stay here.
So please stop yelling, put down your signs,
and pray for those behind enemy lines.
When the conflict is over and all is well,
be thankful that we chose to go through hell.
Corporal Joshua Miles and all the boys from 3rd Battalion 2nd Marines,
Kuwait 3/9/2003

Good Morning.
This is the Daily Thread of Operation Iraqi Freedom - Situation Room - LIVE THREAD.
It is designed for general conversation about the events of the day. In depth discussion of events should be left to individual threads - but links to the threads or other articles is highly encouraged. This allows us to stay abreast of the situation in general, while also providing a means of obtaining specific information.
Please have mercy on us dial up limited FReepers! Limit the big graphics, post links instead. A brief description of what the graphic is would help! If you post graphics, please "size" them so that our browsers continue to load the rest of the thread!

Special thanks to Null and Void for keeping these threads running on the weekends, Mo1 for the screamer, the AdminMods for their tolerance, mhking for the video links, Ragtime Cowgirl for her Exclusive Live Transcription Service, Fledermaus for his 15 minutes of fame, and, of course, Belly Girl...

"Sand GNAT if you please."
I stand corrected! Gnat or flea, it's still an annoying little thing. And yes, Savannah is beautiful. When I lived in Beaufort we would go down to Savannah on the weekends and hang out down by River Road.

That is amazing that Joulwan yelled at Jennings. My husband used to work for Joulwan. We were not extremely impressed by him but at least he got to beat up on Jennings. Good on him!Who's Joulwan? What happened?

Oh, geez louise, Sky is interviewing a World Food agent and she's saying that she's disappointed at the unsafe situation in Baghdad. She's very disappointed that they can't get into the country. She's reminding the coalition that they better remember what the SEcretary General has warned us....Go jump in a lake.
Oh, good, Rummy up.

Am I missing something here. There is a war on right? I guess they didn't get the memo

"David Chater explaining pressure..threats..I forgave him"
or perhaps he could have done the right thing and JUST NOT REPORTED. Walk away - ethics and all that.

I for one am glad they were there. Even though their reports with minders present were terrible, they lived to tell us a story we won't have otherwise.
