This is the most disgusting thing I have ever read. The pro-Saddam left should be held accountable for their tacit support of this ruthless dictator.

Remember it was Scott Ritter who stated he had seen proof of Hussein's abusive conduct toward children, but tried to keep it quiet as he stated he was for peace, not war. I'm sure I saw that article posted here but don't remember a title.

I am compiling a list of things to bring up the next time some liberal doofus starts spewing that "it's all about oil." The torture, the rapes, the imprisonment of children and more--this is what the anti-war people are supporting, whether they are aware of it or not. I plan to make as many of them aware of it as possible.

This is the kind of crap tom daschle and his fellow RATS support. And I use the word "SUPPORT" on purpose. There is no other way to put it. When you oppose your country's going into battle and call it a "dismal failure of diplomacy" not to get french approval first, then you are SUPPORTING saddam hussein and his policies, including keeping children in prison. They are no longer just 'Rats to me. Henceforth, they are now scumRats.

I'm with you.The kids were likely imprisoned to ensure the loyalty of their parents.
One can only hope that some French and German diplomats were visiting with Saddam in his bunker to negotiate the rumored cease fire, and that they all were blown to bits.

The pro-Saddam left should be held accountable for their tacit support of this ruthless dictator. That is an interesting statement you just said. Keep in mind I am all for this war and support the troops (even to the point that they should just bomb that hotel where the journalists are staying).
Having said that, I want to state something and then ask you a question.
Since Jan., 1993 it has been the "left" (ie. democratic administration under the "bent one") who kept Saddam in power. But before that ... during GW1 (Bush 41 years) and before that war, (ie. during the Regan years) did not the "right" keep this guy alive? If I also remember Dick Cheney, who I hold in much more high regard than any person in the Bush 41 adminstration, was SoD. During both times SH was being ... well ... SH ... killing his own people such as the Kurds with gas.
So my question is should we also hold people like Dick Cheney just as accountable for what he was involved to keep this regime alive when Bush 41 was president?
Please Note that I'm not saying that the former administrations should be held accountable as I am just asking the question. hawk

This is the most disgusting thing I have ever read. We're going to see a lot more of this, as the regime crumbles. SHAME on everyone who didn't want to liberate this country.

This is the most disgusting thing I have ever read. The pro-Saddam left should be held accountable for their tacit support of this ruthless dictator. I'm right there with you. This is just the tip of the iceberg. As the people of Iraq gradually become liberated, there will be tales of atrocities just as bad as this. We will hear how young daughters of government officials were drugged and raped and then videotaped so that Saddam could "blackmail" them. We will hear of how Saddam slaughtered the families of people who were accused of "making jokes" about Saddam and even those who heard the jokes but didn't report it to the "proper authorities." We will hear of accused dissenters of the regime being literally bathed in acid and subjected to other horrible methods of torture. We already know how Saddam gassed 100,000 Kurds in northern Iraq (Kurds say it was closer to 200,000). The Kurds in the north and the Shi'tes in the south were saved from extermination after Gulf War I only by our no-fly zones in those areas.
One would think that the anti-American left would put their hatred for President Bush aside and join us in our war against this brutal regime. After all, they proclaim themselves to be such humanitarians and all. But no, they have decided to side with the dicatator Saddam Hussein. They would rather see the Iraqi civilians continue to be raped, tortured and murdered than to see President Bush get (in their minds) a political "boost" from a successful war effort to free these people.

Sick bastards.
