| The Forecaddy -'Revelations and Speculations from the man out front'

The Masters Golf Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club in Georgia is getting so close that the Forecaddie can pratcially smell the azaleas, but there may be more in the air than that.
Something big, big, big.
Here goes, the Forecaddy hears, from more than one source, that the Augusta National Golf Club will announce it's first female member April 9, the day before the start of this year's Masters 'tooniment.'
The Chosen One? Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O'Connor.
The Man Out Front has been scratching his head trying to do the math on this one. Why would Augusta National turn it's prized tournment into a big top circus the day before round one with such Richter Scale news? Since when does The National 'announce' new members to the media or the public? And would a sitting Supreme Court justice even consider jumping headlong into such a controversial matter? (Actually a Harvard Law Professor tells the Man Out Front that there would be nothing stopping her)
Then again, with or without Justice O' Connor the Masters may have already acheved Ringling Brothers Status..

I think there are a few jokes there....:) She's obviously got the hand eye coordination. I'm sure she'd be honored to have a membership at Agusta :)

Shingo Katayama of Japan getting his first lesson on the greens at Augusta this year, almost putts it off the green on 3... Just imagine what he'd be looking at if it was dry. I've been going to the Masters for years, and will be there this time provided I can get past Martha, and offhand I can remember at least four instances of players hitting downhill putts completely off a green... on the 3rd, all the way to the bottom of the hill which fronts the green; on the 9th; on the 14th; and most spectacularly, on the 15th, into the lake.
This is the second tournament since the major lengthening of several holes, and unfortunately, the second wet year. Next time the course is playing hard and fast, maybe with a strong breeze, even par could be a good score. I'll admit to being a bit of a sadist; I'd much rather see them struggling with a 4-iron approach to a firm, lightening fast green than a wedge to a soft target.
Thanx for the pix!

I just think it would make quite a statement to the women's groups pushing for women in Agusta if they offered a world class athelete like Anna Kournikova a membership. :)

If I have to hear that Church sounding Piano music with the reverance in Jim Nance's voice one more year I am going to puke. It's Golf.
The Master is a lesson in the practice of being pretentious. Look at this great Golf course, you will never get to see it in person and NEVER play it. Eat your heart out you mouth breathers...

I was invited to play by a business associate at consider the invitation to playing the course one of the highlights of a business career.
Plus the fact that I putted it off the green at #1 (not a good way to start the round)

Are you like me? Drooling over a pic of Michelle Wie before you read how old -- or, more accurately, how young -- she is?
Ouch! It's gonna be a long five years before I stop feeling guilty about that!
