Bush: 'We are committed to the Road Map'
By THE JERUSALEM POST INTERNET STAFF
President George W. Bush said Tuesday that the US and Britain "are committed to the Road Map toward peace."
Speaking at a joint news conference with British Prime Minister Tony Blair in Hillsborough, Northern Ireland, Bush added: "Now this process must be carried forward."
Moments earlier Blair also reaffirmed Britain's commitment to the plan, which calls for achieving Palestinian statehood by 2005.
"It's a hopeful time. I believe we can make progress," Bush said.
Bush further said he is pleased with the designated Palestinian premier Mahmoud Abbas.
We should. The challenge is how does a democratic nation of 6 million citizens deal with the status of 3 million non-citizens within their borders. Your solution would be appreciated. I support the Road Map.
I believe the concern is based on the dispostion of 3 million non-citizens inside territory controlled by Israel, not the 1 million Arab Israelis that enjoy all the rights of citizenship.
Why should the demands always be made on either us or the Israelis?
Why not call on Arabs to act like civilized human beings for once?
Eh?
If the oil-wealthy "Arab World" is truly so "concerned" about the Palestinians, they can all get together and decide which Arab country is going to give these rat-bag scum a chunk of sand to call home.
Otherwise they should quit with the alligator tears and shut their simpering stink-holes. Israel belongs to the Jews, and it was no less than God who said so.
My solution is war at Israel's convenience. The "road map" means war under circumstances disadvantageous to Israel.
There are no options for peace in Israel without war. All agreements with "palestinians" which give false legitimacy to their Levantine anschluss will be worth as much as Chamberlain's famous scrap of bird-cage liner.
The road map rewards years of terror, and will not quench the thirst of the "palestinians" for still more Jewish blood and land. It is as ill-conceived as Oslo and every other land-for-peace subterfuge.
The bottom line is that the "palestinians" never honored Oslo, so all of their bogus claims should be nullified. They've never accepted Israel's right to exist, so all of their lying claims should be nullified. I believe in real penalties for perfidy. The occupation of the "palestinian homeland" by the Jordanian Hashemites should be the focus here, that's the proper destination of any realistic "road map."
There have been countries that want to abloish religion and others enforce thier religion at the state levels. Even though we are but a few years older than 200. USA was created with a higher goal. Individual.
Those that think religion is thier pillar, in whatever faith, should be respected.
This is where we should focus, not on religion as a factor of state but the individual.
We have to look beyond the beliefs and encompass the desire of the individual. Statehood should be braced as a result of individual.
Why are the "palestians" locked out of their official "homeland" by the occupying Jordanian Hashemites?
Where is the concern for the "palestinians" in actual camps there?
What a steaming pantload of bullsh*t. We have no such "thing."
Congress is prohibited from passing any legislation which creates a religion. Period. Congress... both houses... are opened every day by an official Minister, the Chaplain, with prayer to God.
Our founders stated that laws without observance of God's morality were useless, and they were right.
You, sir, are wrong.

"We have staked the future of all of our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God." -James Madison
"A general dissolution of the principles and manners will more surely overthrow the liberties of America than the whole force of the common enemy.... While the people are virtuous they cannot be subdued; but once they lose their virtue, they will be ready to surrender their liberties to the first external or internal invader.... If virtue and knowledge are diffused among the people, they will never be enslaved. This will be their great security." -Samuel Adams
"Your supposed right to destroy yourself infringes on my right to pursue happiness, being sad at having to sit by and watch people needlessly suffer and die. When you abrogate the unalienable right to life, doing so abrogates my unalienble right to pursue happiness, being sad at watching people needlessly suffer and die." -The Forecastle
"[N]either the wisest constitution nor the wisest laws will secure the liberty and happiness of a people whose manners are universally corrupt. He therefore is the truest friend of the liberty of his country who tries most to promote its virtue, and who, so far as his power and influence extend, will not suffer a man to be chosen onto any office of power and trust who is not a wise and virtuous man." -Samuel Adams
"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom...go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels nor arms. May your chains set lightly upon you and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen." -Samuel Adams
"Those people who will not be governed by God will be ruled by tyrants." -William Penn
"Bad men cannot make good citizens. It is when a people forget God that tyrants forge their chains. A vitiated state of morals, a corrupted public conscience, is incompatible with freedom. No free government, or the blessings of liberty, can be preserved to any people but by a firm adherence to justice, moderation, temperance, frugality, and virtue; and by a frequent recurrence to fundamental principles." -Patrick Henry
"Guard with jealous attention the public liberty. Suspect everyone who approaches that jewel. Unfortunately, nothing will preserve it but downright force. Whenever you give up that force, you are inevitably ruined," -Patrick Henry
"Tyranny, like hell, is not easily conquered; yet we have this consolation with us, that the harder the conflict, the more glorious the triumph. What we obtain too cheap, we esteem too lightly. Heaven knows how to put a proper price upon its goods; and it would be strange indeed, if so celestial an article as Freedom should not be highly rated." -Thomas Paine; 1776
"[I]f we and our posterity reject religious instruction and authority, violate the rules of eternal justice, trifle with the injunctions of morality, and recklessly destroy the political constitution which holds us together, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us, that shall bury all our glory in profound obscurity." -Daniel Webster
"No country upon earth ever had it more in its power to attain blessings. Much to be regretted indeed would it be, were we to depart from the road which Providence has pointed us to, so plainly; I cannot believe it will ever come to pass. The Great Governor of the Universe has led us too long and too far to forsake us in the midst of it. We may, now and then, get bewildered; but I hope and trust that there is good sense and virtue enough left to recover the right path. " -George Washington
I was not alive in 1941, but my father is a combat veteran of WWII and received a Purple Heart for his combat injuries.
When you say "our hands are as bloody as the Gestapo" are you refering to you and your family? Did your father or grandfather serve during WWII?
