We as a club, had decided to help out the troops in some way and the final decision was to help out the families of our local National Guard. With the men and women of the unit deployed, their families can use a little help with bills. So we set up a table to take donations from folks who showed up that afternoon and took in around $750. We'll do this at all our cruise-ins and our car show as long as the war lasts. Our little contribution of support for our troops.
Here's a shot of some of the cars shown Sat. afternoon:
Our '63 Plymouth Sport Fury....I like this little sweetie a lot!
My hubby snuck a shot of me standing by the table we'd set up for donations. Too bad the pattern on the table cloth isn't more evident....it's American flags and eagles:
I wasn't kidding about my poodle skirt and saddle shoes! LOL!! That large white thing hanging around my neck was a credential holder, and in it I had a slip of paper with the names of all my pen pals overseas typed in red and blue. They had to be represented, y'know? *grin*
Perfect timing. Got this done and supper is ready. Be back shortly.
