Bob Arnot, MSNBC
Posted on 04/07/2003 11:46:52 PM PDT by GLDNGUN
Bob Arnot, currently reporting live on MSNBC says Coalition forces at his location are battling the Fedayeen and a group he said he WAS NOT ALLOWED TO IDENTIFY. Al Qaeda? Any other guesses? He did indicate that these are highly skilled fighters, especially in regards to sniping.

I miss my childhood too.
Nowadays we'd be looked at funny for goofing with Legos or Cobra figures.
'Course, no-one asks why one is hanging from a noose in my room.

It does say a lot about the French that the unit in their military that inspires the kind of fear and mystique which are commonplace to our Rangers, Airbourne and the British and Australian SAS is made up entirely of non-Frenchmen.

"Well, the only thing we can be for certain is that the "Mystery Force" is not the lost patrol of the French Foreign Legion."
Actually the French Foreign Legion is made up of non-frenchman and has a well deserved reputation for fighting to the death. Unfortunately for them, enept French foreign policy has given them the chance to fight to the death frequently.

Well, the secret of the French Foreign Legion is that they aren't "Foreign" because they're sent overseas, they're "Foreign" because they're not French. At least not supposed to be (Some French do sneak in.) I believe they're mostly British, actually. I'm not well versed on the Foreign Legion but it is an amry of French and other nationalities. There was a period of time when French criminals had the option of signing up for the Foreign Legion as an alternative to prison. Also, the Legion never was supposed to set foot within France. I believe this has all changed with the times.

I never hanged any of my action figures, but I did put drinking glasses on top of them and pretended various gases were being pumped in to the "chamber." Drinking glasses were also great teleportation chambers. My favorite part about GI Joe was the fact that they started the animated ninja phenomenon with Storm Shadow and Snake Eyes. I don't know much about anime, but I'm not even sure anime ninjas existed before that cartoon series.

The noose was kinda like a 'warning' to would be terrorists.
(Hey, it was kinda fun to make one.)
I always froze them in water ala Han Solo in Emoire Strikes back.
"You have angered me!" (Freezer door slams)
I'm not sure ninjas existed outside of GI Joe before, either.
'Course, I'm not well versed in anime.
But those were the days.
Especially when one's sister was a tomboy who egged one on with statements like, 'Freeze him, AGAIN!' and borrowed above mentioned noose for her Ken doll. (?)
No, not sure why she did that.
I'm afraid she grew up being treated as a little brother.
Would explain why she chased that boy around with a frog back in the third grade or so.

"I thought they were the cradle of Western Civilization and Culture and really much better than us."
Whatever the level of development was back then, I believe they are slipping backwards.
They would have had to feed themselves, from their big fertile lands, and big rivers.
Now, supposedly 60 percent of the population relies on the UN for food. Have you seen farmlands on the TV?
Repeat this scenario across most states in the region, and you get a picture of people who ought to be "humiliated" for slipping backwards.

I think it could be any of a combination of:
Pakistan/Al Qaeda
Syrian
Lybian
Or ... it could be the "Lion Cubs" which Saddam trained from childhood.

I've been between Cody and Billings. They grow stuff there; can't recall what, or how.
It looks like Iraq just developed recently along lines of military, oil...and buy imported food. After 1991 it became suck off the UN.
Overall, it looks like good agriculture could be practiced, with the two big rivers providing irrigation.
Like Israel, the Imperial Valley in Calif. and the Central Valley in Calif. The first two are said to be the most productive farmlands in the world (per acre, or some measure).

It's the dreaded Fedayeen Hitlery.

Add North Korean to that list.
I'm thinking that one of the 'neutral' countries has sent in teams for possible records destruction or protection of something they REALLY do not want to be found.

>2. Kill them, quietly, out of sight of cameras. Avoids many risks.
US soldiers forced
to kill children will come home
with mental problems.
No matter how trained
our guys are, we're civilized
people. And killing
kids, even in war,
goes against everything in
our hearts and our minds.
If this story's true,
our soldiers will need our prayers
desperately, now,
and when they come home.
Let's hope this report didn't
refer to children.

My guess would be Hezbollah, and the reason we can't identify them is because we don't want to push ourselves into a war with Syria until we're good and ready.
