FWIW, it's of crucial importance that they take out Ali Hassan Majeed because 'Chemical Ali' is the sort of figure a future guerrilla movement could get structured around. Hopefully they got him in this strike, but if not, I suspect there will be exceedingly few places for him to hide in Iraq once we effectively pacify the nation. Still, the greater concern is that he or one of these other Ba'ath leadership figures may escape and coordinate a resistence movement from elsewhere. I don't think anyone would really care too much what happens to 'Chemical Ali' and his evil comrades were it not for that possibility.

That's okay, I'd rather catch him alive... and let the Iraqi people beat him to death with shoes!

That reddish haired guy is Izzat Ibrahim - the northern sector commander. Another one they need to get, ASAP...

LOL! From the WP article:
"Until they do a DNA, I'm not going to speculate," said an exasperated Col. Larry Brown, operations chief for the Marines in Iraq. "The guy has been like Freddy Krueger -- we've killed him five times already."

Curious to know why this was removed so QUICKLY from breaking news. I first saw the thread when it had only 2 comments, then had to re-search for it because it was gone from the sidebar.

I probably will brush off reports when Saddam and Ali are dead since all the previous reports of their demise are suspect.
It is looking less likely that we got Saddam last night......2 misses. When we do get him, I probably won't believe it.
This is frustrating.

Perhaps they will all 'escape' to Tikrit, where we will surround that smaller city, cutting off their scurry to Syria. Then the nest of demons can be methodically exterminated.

As far as I am concerned they are either all dead or in Syria or Russia running the war from there.

Maybe because O'Reilly has reported that they have DNA evidence that Chemical Ali is no more.
