Syracuse wins national championship, 81-78.

It took Carmelo Anthony just one season to lift Syracuse to the promised land. Led by its fabulous freshman, Syracuse won its first national title with a thrilling 81-78 win over Kansas on Monday. The Orangeman built an early 18-point lead, then held on behind Anthony's 20 points to extend the misery of Roy Williams and the Jayhawks.

And no fluke, in its final 3 games Syracuse beat 3 of the top 5 teams(OU, TX, KS), and also in the tourney a fourth from this year's best conference (Oklahoma State).

I applaude him for telling Bonnie Bernstein and CBS where they could stick it. His team just lost a heartbreaker, you could tell it hurt him, and she's nagging him about the Carolina job.

Judging from how the Tar Heels treated Matt Dougherty, I'd say he's better off staying at Kansas.
